Open innovation : ハーバード流イノベーション戦略のすべて

Across Africa, Innovation and ICT entrepreneurship are increasingly recognised as important enablers of national and regional socio-economic growth. However, the level of skills capacity, indigenous entrepreneurial expertise and policy support varies considerably. This research study was informed by a semi-structured, moderated focus group involving five public and four education and research stakeholders from eight African Member States. It focused on identifying factors impacting on the current level of open innovation and ICT entrepreneurship in Africa. Organised in Lilongwe, Malawi on 08 May 2015 during IST-Africa Week 2015, a purposive approach was applied to identify the nine informants based on intensity sampling. The results highlighted six main factors: a) level of political will reflected by resource prioritisation; b) alignment with national development plans and associated funding priorities; c) level of understanding of strategic benefits by ministers and senior civil servants; d) level of awareness and sensitization of the general public, e) availability of national innovation and entrepreneurial expertise; and f) willingness and capacity to cooperate with other stakeholders to achieve common goals. Future research will capture perspectives from the private, societal and international donor sectors, and create and validate potential models/methodologies to address the challenges and opportunities identified in this study.

This research study focused on identifying factors impacting on the current level of open innovation and ICT entrepreneurship in Africa. Insights into open innovation and ICT entrepreneurship in Africa

A logistics cluster is a concentration of enterprises which their core activities are logistics and related services, in a dense and specific geographical area, pursuing to improve competitiveness in operations and services offered by the logistics chains competing as a region. This paper presents a theoretical approach related to the logistics and transportation clusters, the main factors to remain in a successful operation and how to compete as a group to increase regional competitiveness. Based on different research frameworks in a wide spectrum of countries about clusters for competitiveness and specifically logistics clusters development, a literature review is presented in this exploratory study, mainly used to begin the construction of a Logistics Cluster in a particular region in Latin America. This logistics cluster is the 11 th cluster in the region and the first one based on logistics and transportation operations. In brief, the horizontal integration, synergy between members, diversification and the geographical logistics intensive agglomeration becomes the main topics of interest of this paper, looking forward to build competitiveness through a logistics cluster, and gain attractiveness for the region.

Increasing competitiveness through a logistics and transportation cluster: A Literature Review

Economic forces and industrialization are determinant factors in wealth creation; however, an important part of the equation has been omitted by most of the industrial and social players, especially in developing countries. The business cycleâ€™s impact on the environment, on the life cycle assessment, and on the biocapacity of the earth has had a tremendous effect on the equilibrium of all the sub-systems (economic, social, and environmental resources). Based on these systemic requirements, a synergistic approach involving all the stakeholders has been collated and a systemic framework, the Sustainable WIT Model has been developed, and is designed to build â€œsustainable clusters of high value, globally competitive industriesâ€ for developing regions. This paper discusses how the Sustainable WIT Model has been applied to one of the most important industries currently having an impact on economic, social, and environmental ecosystems worldwide - the sustainable construction industry - in a region where it is creating suitable conditions for a city to become part of a knowledge-based economy. The SWIT Model considers the economic growth of the industrial life cycle as a priority, but also includes other external forces that have previously been ignored, such as societal impact, human well-being, and bio capacity, in such a way that the sustainability cycle can be economically viable.

Assembling Industrial Ecosystems for a Knowledge City: Case of the Sustainable Housing Industry

Most industrialized countries have been able to insert innovation into their national agendas, leveraging competitiveness, economic growth and social development. Well structured national innovation systems run across all the innovation value chain: from the transfer of ideas or inventions, to their commercialization as high value and differentiated products or services, producing high economic and social impacts In developing countries, the circumstances are quite different. There are weak liaisons, low trust and poor association between economic generators (companies) and their supporting institutions (government, federations, banks and academies). Regions are not electronically prepared (e-readiness) to support the infrastructure required for the effective formation of clusters (e-readiness). Innovation is not perceived as an asset, and high value entrepreneurship is not a common finding in the entrepreneurial profiles of most professionals. There are no world class industrial enabling conditions, nor high value core capabilities, and the digital economies are creating large digital development divides instead of business opportunities. In general, the economic gap between rich countries and poor ones widens every day. To help alleviate this situation, we have developed the WIT Model (Wealth creation through Innovation and enabling Technologies). This model has been designed to create the necessary and sufficient enabling conditions and core capabilities to empower developing regions to transform their scarce resources and hostile conditions, into attractive regions with competitive industries and innovative companies, capable of producing great added and differential values, strongly interrelated with their regional social capital, so that they can compete globally as extended networks of value, and share their economic value among their local communities. Several cases of application of the model are shown, specially the current project of the Institute for Innovation and Technology Transfer (IITT) planned to position the city of Monterrey, Mexico, as an international Pole of Innovation and Competitiveness.
