Experimental investigation of water droplet binary collisions and description of outcomes with a symmetric Weber number
TL;DR: In this article, the outcomes of binary collisions of water droplets are investigated experimentally for the range of parameters of a spray system used during a severe nuclear reactor accident, and results obtained for unequal droplet sizes match on a single map in terms of the impact parameter and of a new "symmetric" Weber number based on the sum of kinetic energies in the frame of the center of mass.

The TONUS CFD code for hydrogen risk analysis: Physical models, numerical schemes and validation matrix
Sergey Kudriakov,F. Dabbene,Etienne Studer,A. Beccantini,J.P. Magnaud,H. Paillere,Ahmed Bentaib,A. Bleyer,J. Malet,Emmanuel Porcheron,Cataldo Caroli +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the governing equations, numerical strategy and schemes used for the CFD approach for the TONUS CFD code, which is presently used to support the hydrogen risk assessment for the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) plant and to investigate the impact of the two-room concept on hydrogen distribution in the EPR containment.

OECD International Standard Problem ISP-47 on containment thermal-hydraulics—Conclusions of the TOSQAN part
TL;DR: The main objective of the ISP-47 is to assess the capabilities of LumpedParameter and Computational Fluid Dynamics codes in the area of nuclear containment thermal-hydraulics as mentioned in this paper.

Sprays in Containment: Final results of the SARNET Spray Benchmark
J. Malet,L. Blumenfeld,S. Arndt,M. Babic,Ahmed Bentaib,F. Dabbene,P. Kostka,Stephane Mimouni,M. Movahed,Sandro Paci,Z. Parduba,J.R. Travis,Egidijus Urbonavicius +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of spraying on atmosphere behavior is investigated through benchmark exercises based on TOSQAN (IRSN) and MISTRA (CEA) experiments, and the results show that spray dilution can lead to discrepancies localized in the spray region and can have a high impact on the global results.
