This research was performed on a microfilter made of a hybrid material (ceramic + metal) that was coated with ceramics on the metal-filter surface by using the thermal spray method. The ceramic powders used were powder with a particle size of and (98%+)powder with a particle size of . The metal filters were filter-grade , , and sintered metal powder filters (SIKA-R 20 IS, 30 IS, 50 IS; Sinter Metals Filters) and filter-grade sintered mesh filter with five layers. Ceramic-coated filters that were coated using the thermal spray method had a great influence on powder material, particle size, and coating thickness. However, these filters showed a fine performance when used as micro-filters.

Because the magnetic bearing supports levitating body without contact, wear, noise and vibration are very small comparing with mechanical bearings, it is very useful to high revolution machinery. In general, the magnetic attractive force function that is proportional to square of control current(x), and inversely proportional to square of an air gap(i) has been widely used. This paper proposed the new magnetic attractive force function that is proportional to cube of the control current, and inversely proportional to square of the air gap. The function was optimized to minimize the cost function that is the percentage of deviation about the change of a proportional constant(k), using the experimental data, ie, control currents and air gaps.

Control of Magnetic Bearing using ATmega128(Focused on experiments)

In this paper, it is presented the development of a new type force feedback system. It is based on a 6-DOF Stewart parallel mechanism1,2) which has six pneumatic actuated cylinders. The thrust force of each cylinder is controlled by PWM control for the solenoid valve and it is actualized by PIC controller. When the pneumatic actuator is controlled, it must be considered the influence on the compressibility of air. For this problem, we guarantee the control characteristics by the effect of the accumulator. It is confirmed that the thrust force of the cylinder can be applied to the pneumatic parallel mechanism, and is presented the experimental result of force control for vertical direction.

The magnetic levitation system is utilized in the magnetic bearing of high-speed rotor because of little friction, no lubrication, no noise and so on. The magnetic levitation system need the feedback controller for the stabilization of system, and gap sensors are generally used to measure the gap. The use of gap sensors brings out the increase of the number of troublesome, and the decrease of the control performance because of the dislocation between the measurement point and the control point. This paper presents the design of the gap estimation circuit for the sensorless method proposed by authors in the magnetic levitation system. We made the gap estimation circuit which was composed of both the superposition circuit and the measuring circuit. And we investigated the validity of the usefulness of the proposed sensorless method in the magnetic levitation system through results of actual experiment.

A Study on the Gap Estimation Circuit Design of the Magnetic Levitation System

This paper presents the vibration control for the two degree-of-freedom which is a reduced model of multi-layer structure. This reduced model is designed for the first and second order resonance in the low frequency domain where the disturbance such as the earth quake has the large energy. And a designed controller using the LQ type control theory shows the good performance for the impulse disturbance through the experimental results and the simulation results respectively.

This paper describes a state feedback controller design method of the integral type magnetic levitation servo system which satisfies the design objectives. The design objective is a performance, asymptotic disturbance rejection and a robust pole assignment in linear matrix inequality(LMI) region. To the end, we investigated the validity of the designed controller which considering a robust pole assignment region, through results of simulation.
