Influence of sulphidation conditions on the properties of NiW/Al2O3 hydrotreating catalysts
M. Breysse,M. Cattenot,Thierry Decamp,Roger Frety,Christian Gachet,M. Lacroix,C. Leclercq,Louis de Mourgues,J.L. Portefaix,Michel Vrinat,Mohammed Houari,J. Grimblot,S. Kasztelan,Jean Pierre Bonnelle,Saïd Housni,J. Bachelier,Jean Claude Duchet +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the sulphidation of a nickel-tungsten catalyst has been studied by XPS and electron microscopy and it was observed that for a sulphidation temperature of 400°C, only 70% of the tungsten atoms are in a WS 2 -like form; this proportion increases to 95% at 650°C.

Surface chemistry of MoO3 ? γ‐Al2O3 catalysts studied by laser Raman spectroscopy: Hydration and dehydration reactions and generalization to other supported systems
TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that the shift from 950 to 1000 cm−1 of the main Raman line assigned to the MoO (t) stretch is interpreted as a reversible dehydration of the supported molybdate.

Industrial MoO3-promoter oxide-γ-Al2O3 hydrotreating catalysts: genesis and architecture description
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report new results about the architecture of oxide precursors of series of Mo-based catalysts prepared according to industrial conditions and compare and discuss with other descriptions already published.

Nature and structure of tungsten surface species present on NiO-WO3/Al2O3 hydrotreating catalysts
Driss Ouafi,Françoise Maugé,Jean-Claude Lavalley,Edmond Payen,S. Kasztelan,Mohamed Houari,J. Grimblot,J. P. Bonnelle +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the vibrational spectra (LRS and FTIR) were modified by introducing different bases (CH3)2O, NH3, C5H5N) which react with unsaturated sites on the W atom.

The sulphided state of nickel molybdenum catalysts supported on zirconia and aluminates
Françoise Maugé,J.C. Duchet,Jean-Claude Lavalley,S. Houssenbay,Edmond Payen,J. Grimblot,Slavik Kasztelan +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the carrier on the genesis of the promoted active phase, referred to as the “NiMoS” phase, has been explored and correlated with thiophene HDS activity results and discussed in terms of morphological effects as revealed by HREM.
