Predictors of successful arteriovenous fistula maturation.
Harold I. Feldman,Marshall M. Joffe,Sylvia E. Rosas,J.Eileen Burns,Jill S. Knauss,Kenneth L. Brayman +5 more
TL;DR: Predictive probabilities of successful AVF maturation under optimal surgical technique reinforce the view that functioning AVFs can be achieved in a large proportion of hemodialysis patients, consistent with experience in selected regions of the United States and abroad.

Delayed function reduces renal allograft survival independent of acute rejection
Harold I. Feldman,R. Gayner,Jesse A. Berlin,D. A. Roth,Randi Silibovsky,Steven A. Kushner,Kenneth L. Brayman,J.Eileen Burns,Sidney Kobrin,Amy L. Friedman,Robert A. Grossman +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the effect of delayed allograft function is mediated, in part, through mechanisms not involving acute clinical rejection, as well as stable among several subgroups of patients and using alternative definitions of allografted survival and delayed allogsraft function.
Determinants of successful synthetic hemodialysis vascular access graft placement.
Sylvia E. Rosas,Marshall M. Joffe,J.Eileen Burns,Jill S. Knauss,Kenneth L. Brayman,Harold I. Feldman +5 more
TL;DR: Synthetic vascular grafts, the most common type of permanent dialysis graft used in the United States, are associated with great morbidity and expense and possible areas for intervention to improve synthetic vascular graft outcome are suggested.
