A full genome search in multiple sclerosis

Paty,S Hashimoto,Joel Oger,Pierre Duquette,Sharon Warren,T. Gray,Paul O'Connor,Avindra Nath,A. Auty,Luanne M. Metz,Gordon S. Francis,J E Paulseth,T J Murray,William Pryse-Phillips,R. F. Nelson,Matthew L. Freedman,Donald G. Brunet,Jean-Pierre Bouchard,David A. Hinds,Neil Risch +29 more
TL;DR: The results support genetic epidemiological evidence that several genes interact epistatically to determine heritable susceptibility in multiple sclerosis.

Genetic susceptibility to MS: a second stage analysis in Canadian MS families
David A. Dyment,Cristen J. Willer,Beverly Scott,H. Armstrong,Arturs Ligers,Jan Hillert,Donald W. Paty,Stanley A. Hashimoto,Virginia Devonshire,John P. Hooge,Lorne F. Kastrukoff,Joel Oger,Luanne M. Dessa Sadovnick,Neil Risch,George C. Ebers +35 more
TL;DR: Future progress in the genetics of this complex trait may be helped by focussing on more ethnically homogeneous samples, using an increased number of MS families, and using transmission disequilibrium analysis in candidate regions rather than the affected relative pair linkage analysis.

Evidence against the involvement of chronic cerebrospinal venous abnormalities in multiple sclerosis. A case-control study.
Ian W. Rodger,Dorothy Dilar,Janet Dwyer,John Bienenstock,Andu Coret,Judith Coret-Simon,Gary Foster,Arlene Franchetto,Slobodan Franic,Charles H. Goldsmith,David Koff,Norman B. Konyer,Mitchell Levine,Ellen McDonald,Michael D. Noseworthy,Michael D. Noseworthy,J E Paulseth,Luciana Ribeiro,Mary Jane Sayles,Lehana Thabane +19 more
TL;DR: This case-control study provides compelling evidence against the involvement of CCSVI in multiple sclerosis.
Disabling encephalopathy during 5-fluorouracil and levamisole adjuvant therapy for resected colorectal cancer: a report of two cases.
TL;DR: It is observed leukoencephalopathy in 1 patient, and progressive dementia in another, during the administration of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and levamisole, and the lack of complete reversibility on stopping the drugs is worrisome, as this therapy is used to improve the curability of resected colon cancer.
