Incidence and phylogeny of viruses infecting cucurbit crops in KwaZulu-Natal, Republic of South Africa
J. D. Ibaba,Mark Laing,A. Gubba +2 more
TL;DR: Polerovirus isolates were identified as Pepo aphid-borne yellows virus (PABYV) based on the sequence similarity and phylogenetic analyses and will contribute towards the development of effective management strategies against viruses infecting cucurbits in KZN.

Full-genome analyses of a Potato Virus Y (PVY) isolate infecting pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) in the Republic of South Africa
TL;DR: The first full-genome sequence of a PVY isolate (JVW-186) infecting pepper from the province of KwaZulu-Natal, Republic of South Africa is reported, suggesting the possibility of a PGVY isolate that has evolved due to the dynamics of selection pressure or the likelihood of an ancestral PVY strain.

Diversity of potato virus Y isolates infecting solanaceous vegetables in the province of KwaZulu-Natal in the Republic of South Africa
J. D. Ibaba,A. Gubba +1 more
TL;DR: The results confirm the diversity of PVY in KZN as is the case wherever the virus occurs around the world.
