A circadian rhythm-gated subcortical pathway for nighttime-light-induced depressive-like behaviors in mice.
Kai An,Huan Zhao,Ying Miao,Ying Miao,Qi Xu,Yu-Fei Li,Yuqian Ma,Yi-Ming Shi,Jiawei Shen,Jian-Jun Meng,Yong-Gang Yao,Yong-Gang Yao,Zhi Zhang,J. Chen,Jin Bao,Jin Bao,Mei Zhang,Tian Xue +17 more
TL;DR: A new brain pathway is discovered in mice that conveys light signals from the retina to mood-relevant subcortical nuclei under circadian gating and thereby mediates depressive-like behaviors induced by abnormal nighttime light exposure.

Electrophysiological characterization of photoreceptor-like cells in human inducible pluripotent stem cell-derived retinal organoids during in vitro maturation
Ling-Yun Li,Huan Zhao,Haohuan Xie,Tasneem Akhtar,Yichuan Yao,Yuan Cai,Kai Dong,Yonghao Gu,Jin Bao,Jin Bao,J. Chen,Mei Zhang,Kai Zhong,Weiping Xu,Tian Xue +14 more
TL;DR: This study systemically characterized the physiological maturation of photoreceptor‐like cells in hiPSC‐derived ROs and demonstrated that the hyperpolarization‐activated inward current/depolarization-activated outward current ratio (I−120/I+40), termed as the inward‐outward current (IOC) ratio hereon, accurately represented the maturity ofPhotoreceptors and could serve as a sensitive indicator of pathological state.

Nanosecond laser photolysis studies of vitamin K3 in aqueous solution
TL;DR: In this article, a 248nm laser flash photolysis was performed on vitamin K 3 in aqueous solution and the intermediates recorded were assigned to excited triplet states and dehydrogenated radicals.

Signal-to-noise ratio analysis of X-ray grating interferometry with the reverse projection extraction method
Ziyu Wu,Zhili Wang,Kun Gao,Danhao Wang,Sisheng Wang,J. Chen,H. S. Chen,K. Zhang,Peng Zhu,Peng Zhu,Z. Y. Wu,Z. Y. Wu +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a quantitative analysis of the signal-to-noise ratio of X-ray grating interferometry with the reverse projection (RP) method.

Effects of the condenser fractal zone plate in a transmission X-ray microscope
Xuewu Ge,Zhili Wang,Kun Gao,Danhao Wang,Zhao Wu,J. Chen,K. Zhang,Youli Hong,Peiping Zhu,Ziyu Wu,Ziyu Wu +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a condenser fractal zone plate produces the focal spot in a transmission X-ray microscope layout and a numerical simulation shows that the efficiency of the condenser depends on the structure and the material of the zone plate, and on the energy.
