TL;DR: The beam delivery system for the linear collider focuses beams to nanometer sizes at its interaction point, collimates the beam halo to provide acceptable background in the detector and has a provision for state-of-the-art beam instrumentation in order to reach the ILC's physics goals as discussed by the authors.
Bdsim - beamline simulation toolkit based on geant4

- 01 Jan 2006
TL;DR: BDSIM is a code that combines accelerator-style particle tracking with traditional Geant-style tracking based on Runge-Kutta techniques, which means that particle beams can be tracked efciently when inside the beampipe, while also enabling full Geant4 processes when beam-particles interact with beamline apertures.

Simulation of the ILC Collimation System using BDSIM, MARS15 and STRUCT
J. Carter,Ilya Agapov,G.A. Blair,L. Deacon,Alexandr Drozhdin,N.V. Mokhov,Yuri Nosochkov,Andrei Seryi +7 more
- 12 Jul 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study of the collimation system performance for the 250 GeV machine is conducted, and the key radiation loads are calculated for the latest ILC designs are presented together with their implications for future design iterations.
Beam Profile Measurements and Simulations of the Petra Laser-Wire

TL;DR: The Laser-wire will be an essential diagnostic tool at the International Linear Collider as discussed by the authors, which uses a finely focussed laser beam to measure the transverse profile of electron bunches by detecting the Compton-scattered photons (or degraded electrons) downstream of where the laser beam intersects the electron beam.
International linear collider simulations using BDSIM
TL;DR: In this article, power loss simulations for the 2, 14, and 20 mrad extraction line designs using the BDSIM toolkit are presented, and a preliminary study on the background from the beam losses along the extraction line in the case of 20 mdr with high luminosity parameters is also given.
