Crouzon syndrome: mutations in two spliceoforms of FGFR2 and a common point mutation shared with Jackson—Weiss syndrome
Michael C. Gorry,Preston Ra,G J White,Y Zhang,V K Singhal,H W Losken,M G Parker,N A Nwokoro,J C Post,Garth D. Ehrlich +9 more
TL;DR: The finding of a mutation in exon IIIc of the FGFR2 gene in a kindred affected with Crouzon syndrome that is identical to the mutation previously associated with Jackson-Weiss syndrome suggests that the genetics of the craniosynostosis syndromes is more complex than would be expected from their simple autosomal-dominant inheritance pattern.

Development and validation of a multiplex PCR-based assay for the upper respiratory tract bacterial pathogens haemophilus influenzae, streptococcus pneumoniae, and moraxella catarrhalis
J C Post,G. J. White,Aul Jj,T Zavoral,Robert M. Wadowsky,Y Zhang,RA Preston,Garth D. Ehrlich +7 more
TL;DR: An assay that can simultaneously detect Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Moraxella catarrhalis was developed and is able to detect all three organisms in a specific manner, either individually or severally.

Analysis of adult otitis media: polymerase chain reaction versus culture for bacteria and viruses.
E M Liederman,J C Post,Jerome J. Aul,D A Sirko,G. J. White,Craig A. Buchman,Garth D. Ehrlich +6 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that culture-negative middle ear effusions contain genomic sequences from bacterial pathogens, and finding of HIV RNA and DNA in effusion from HIV-positives suggests replicating virus in this fluid.
