TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive experimental and theoretical investigation of dispersion of the linear and nonlinear optical susceptibilities for amino acidL-alanine single crystals is reported. And the atomic positions from X-ray diffraction have been optimized so that the force on each atom is around 1 mRy au−1.

Origin of giant anisotropy in synthesized Ba pentaborates
TL;DR: The electronic structure, charge density distribution, and linear-optical properties of the highly anisotropic crystal Ba@B5O8(OH)3# ~BaBOH! are calculated using a self-consistent norm-conserving pseudopotential method within a framework of local density approximation theory as mentioned in this paper.
