Cytoplasmic proliferating cell nuclear antigen connects glycolysis and cell survival in acute myeloid leukemia.
Delphine Ohayon,Alessia De Chiara,Nicolas Chapuis,Céline Candalh,Julie Mocek,J.-A. Ribeil,Lamya Haddaoui,Norbert Ifrah,Olivier Hermine,Olivier Hermine,Frédéric Bouillaud,Frédéric Bouillaud,Frédéric Bouillaud,Philippe Frachet,Didier Bouscary,Véronique Witko-Sarsat +15 more
TL;DR: The data uncover a novel pathway of nuclear export of PCNA that drives cell survival by increasing metabolism flux and was demonstrated in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
Effect of hydroxyurea exposure before puberty on sperm parameters in males with sickle cell disease
L. Joseph,Camille Jean,Sandra Manceau,Céline Chalas,Cécile Arnaud,Annie Kamdem,Corinne Pondarré,Anoosha Habibi,Françoise Bernaudin,Slimane Allali,Slimane Allali,M. de Montalembert,Benedicte Boutonnat-Faucher,Jean-Benoit Arlet,Bérengère Koehl,Marina Cavazzana,Marina Cavazzana,J.-A. Ribeil,François Lionnet,Isabelle Berthaut,Valentine Brousse,Valentine Brousse +21 more
TL;DR: Although the authors observed substantial quantitative and qualitative semen abnormalities in all patients, there were no significant differences in semen volume, sperm concentration, total sperm count, and spermatozoa motility, morphology and vitality between the H U-exposed and HU-naïve groups.

[HSP70, an erythropoiesis regulator that determines the fate of erythroblasts between death and differentiation].
Olivier Hermine,Jean-Benoît Arlet,J.-A. Ribeil,F. Guillerm,J. Vandekerkhove,Geneviève Courtois +5 more
TL;DR: Molecular abnormalities associated with decrease of HSP70 expression in the nucleus may result in ineffective erythropoiesis characterized by apoptosis and impaired maturation of erythroid precursors.

[Erythropoiesis: a paradigm for the role of caspases in cell death and differentiation].
J.-A. Ribeil,Yael Zermati,Julie Vandekerckhove,Mickael Dussiot,Joelle Kersual,Olivier Hermine +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that upon erythropoietin starvation or engagement of the death receptor Fas, caspases are activated in erythroid precursors and cleave GATA-1, thus inducing maturation arrest and apoptosis of immature erythroblasts.

HSP27 controls GATA-1 protein level during erythroid cell differentiation
Aurélie de Thonel,Aurélie de Thonel,Julie Vandekerckhove,David Lanneau,David Lanneau,Subramaniam Selvakumar,Subramaniam Selvakumar,Geneviève Courtois,Adonis Hazoumé,Adonis Hazoumé,Mathilde Brunet,Mathilde Brunet,Sebastien Maurel,Sebastien Maurel,Arlette Hammann,Arlette Hammann,J.-A. Ribeil,Yael Zermati,Anne Sophie Gabet,Joan Boyes,Eric Solary,Eric Solary,Olivier Hermine,Carmen Garrido,Carmen Garrido +24 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that, in the late stages of the erythroid differentiation program, HSP27 is phosphorylated in a p38-dependent manner, enters the nucleus, binds to GATA-1, and induces its ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation, provided that the transcription factor is acetylated.
