Effects of β1‐ and β2‐blockade on blood pressure and sympathetic responses to flight phobia stress
TL;DR: Neither β1‐ nor β2‐blockade prevents an increase in blood pressure during acute flight phobia stress, and increased plasma epinephrine seems to be the sympathetic variable that is closest related to this increase inBlood pressure.

Effect of sodium depletion on plasma renin concentration before and during adrenergic β-receptor blockade with propranolol in normotensive man
Per Omvik,Erik Enger,Ivar K Eide +2 more
TL;DR: A well-defined hyperbolic relationship was found between the two variables indicating that the physiologic level of plasma renin concentration depends on the state of sodium balance, and that sodium depletion stimulates renin release independent of sympathetic nervous activity.
