Dietary chitosan-selenium nanoparticle (CTS-SeNP) enhance immunity and disease resistance in zebrafish.
Ivan Fan Xia,Jacky St Cheung,Manhui Wu,Kwong Sen Wong,Hang-kin Kong,Xiao Ting Zheng,Keith Kwong Hon Wong,Kevin Wh. Kwok +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggested that CTS‐SeNP is an effective immunostimulant to fish and has potential application in aquaculture.

Maternal dietary exposure to selenium nanoparticle led to malformation in offspring.
Mengjuan Shi,Cunli Zhang,Ivan Fan Xia,Siu To Cheung,Kwong Sen Wong,Keith Kwong Hon Wong,Doris W.T. Au,David E. Hinton,Kevin W.H. Kwok +8 more
TL;DR: The results showed that SeNPs cause similar toxicity as other Se species but require further study to elucidate the underlying mechanism, and suggested total Se concentration is a poor predictor of toxicity and teratogenesis.

Selenium Nanoparticles (SeNPs) Immunomodulation Is More Than Redox Improvement: Serum Proteomics and Transcriptomic Analyses
Ivan Fan Xia,Hang-kin Kong,Margaret May-Som Wu,Yishan Lu,Ka-Hing Wong,Kevin W.H. Kwok +5 more
TL;DR: Interestingly, the biological functions enhanced by SeNP were almost identical in the healthy and disease conditions, but while the SeNP was suppressing ROS in healthy individuals, it promoted ROS formation during disease condition, indicating the close relationship between immune and redox regulation.
Haematopoietic stem and progenitor cell heterogeneity is inherited from the embryonic endothelium.
Joey J. Ghersi,Gabriel Baldissera,Jared Hintzen,Stephanie A. Luff,Siyuan Cheng,Ivan Fan Xia,Christopher M. Sturgeon,Stefania Nicoli +7 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that HSPC heterogeneity arises in the AGM endothelium and is programmed in part by Wnt and Notch signalling.
