Theoretical study of trans-cis photoisomerism in polymethine cyanines
TL;DR: In this article, the trans-cis photoisomerism of polymethine dyes has been interpreted from an intramolecular point of view using different and rather inconsistent models of the potential energy surfaces.

Photophysical and theoretical studies of photoisomerism and rotamerism of trans-styrylphenanthrenes
TL;DR: In this paper, the photophysical and photochemical properties and the ground-state conformational equilibrium of trans-n-styrylphenanthrene (n-StPh, with n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 9) have been studied in inert solvents.

- 15 Mar 2003
TL;DR: In this paper, the solvent influence on the fluorescence spectra (fluorosolvatochromism) of these dyes has been investigated, and it has been shown that S 0 and S 1 states of merocyanines can be viewed as a mixture of a neutral and a zwitterionic structure whose composition is controlled by the solvent polarity.

A new indo-type procedure for conjugated non-rigid molecules. I. Ground-state conformations and barriers to internal rotation
TL;DR: In this article, a semi-empirical all-valence-electron (SVEE) method is proposed for describing both ground and excited-state properties of large conjugated molecules.
