Long term experiences in a pilot-scale high-rate activated sludge system with lamella clarifier: Effluent quality and carbon capture
H. Gulhan,Muhammed Nimet Hamidi,Amr Mustafa Abdelrahman,Malhun Fakıoğlu,Beyda Mese,Mustafa Yoruk,Ece Sagir Kurt,Ismail Koyuncu,Huseyin Guven,Hale Ozgun,Mustafa Evren Ersahin,Izzet Ozturk +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors used a lamella clarifier to determine the optimum operational conditions in terms of hydraulic retention time (HRT) (75 and 50 min) and dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration (0.2, 0.5, and 0.8 mg/L) of a high-rate activated sludge (HRAS) system.

Synthesis, Characterization, and Cytotoxic Activities of a Schiff Base Ligand and Its Binuclear Copper(II) and Manganese(III) Complexes
TL;DR: It has been found that cytotoxicity of the ligand was significantly enhanced towards cancer cells and declined towards normal HEK293 cells by metal chelation, and copper complex yielded better results in comparison with manganese complex.
Some medicinal plants counteract alterations of neuroendocrine stress response system, oxidative and nitrosative stress caused by repeated restraint in rats
TL;DR: The results revealed that the aforementioned plant extracts has remarkable potentials to counteract repeated RS caused alterations of cortisol as well as oxidative and nitrosative stress biomarkers probably through their antistress, antioxidant and free radical defusing effects.

NF-RO Membrane Performance for Treating the Effluent of an Organized Industrial Zone Wastewater Treatment Plant: Effect of Different UF Types
TL;DR: In this paper, three different UF membranes with variable molecular weight cutoff (MWCO) values (4, 10, and 250 kDa) were used to treat the effluent of an OIZ WWTP at laboratory scale.
