PURPOSE:To make a weight light and improve rigidity at a four wheel automobile wheel axle, by making the cross section of the wheel axle hollow, and arranging so that a spherical black lead cast iron system may be held, and also, forming a fitting portion to a frame, into a T letter shape. CONSTITUTION:The whole of a wheel axle 1 is cast-formed into a hollow box shape. And, a fitting portion 5 which is fitted to a car body frame by means of a leaf spring, is formed into a T letter shape at its cross section. And, at the time of this casting, black lead cast iron of a spherical shape is used, and the retention of 30 minutes - 3 hours at 830 - 950 degrees C and then, the retention of 30 minutes - 3 hours at 200 - 400 degrees C, are conducted. As a result, making a weight light and improving rigidity are realized.

An exhaust component for a motor vehicle includes a wall, an internal volume, an inlet, and an outlet. The wall includes a core layer having a surface and a first layer disposed on a portion of the surface. The portion is less than 100 percent of an area of the surface. The core layer has a first composition. The first layer is a cold-sprayed layer. The core layer has a second composition different from the first composition. The first layer reduces surface-radiated noise from the exhaust component during operation of the motor vehicle. The internal volume is at least partially defined by the wall. The inlet is in fluid communication with the internal volume. The outlet is in fluid communication with the internal volume.

PURPOSE:To obtain a wheel for industrial machinery reduced in manufacturing costs and increased in service life, by subjecting spheroidal graphite cast iron, in its state of stock or after rough processing, to austempering treatment under specific conditions so as to form a matrix into mixed structure and then by working the above into accurate dimensions. CONSTITUTION:The spheroidal graphite cast iron is used in its state of stock or is subjected to rough processing into the shape of an industrial wheel, which is heated and held to and at 830-900 deg.C for 0.5-3hr, cooled rapidly down to 200-400 deg.C, and held for >=0.5hr. Owing to the above austempering treatment, the matrix structure is formed into a mixed structure of bainite and austenite. After that, the above material is worked into accurate dimensions so as to be formed into the desired wheel shape. In this way, manufacturing process can be shortened and the wheel for industrial machinery having superior wear resistance can be manufactured while obviating the necessity of induction hardening.
