On-sky performance of the Zernike phase contrast sensor for the phasing of segmented telescopes.
TL;DR: The Zernike phase contrast method is a novel technique to phase the primary mirrors of segmented telescopes and the performance of the sensor as a function of parameters such as star magnitude, seeing, and integration time is discussed.

Design and performances of the Shack-Hartmann sensor within the Active Phasing Experiment
R. Mazzoleni,Frédéric Gonté,Isabelle Surdej,C. Araujo,R. Brast,Frederic Derie,P. Duhoux,Christophe Dupuy,Christoph Frank,Robert Karban,Lothar Noethe,N. Yaitskova +11 more
TL;DR: The Shack-Hartmann Phasing Sensor (SHAPS) as mentioned in this paper is a phase sensor based on the Shack Hartmann principle, which is used in the active phase experiment (APE) at ESO.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the lastest design and development of the Active Phasing Experiment that will be tested in laboratory and on-sky connected to a VLT at Paranal in Chile.

Pattern recognition and signal analysis in a Mach-Zehnder type phasing sensor
TL;DR: In the framework of the Active Phasing Experiment carried out at ESO, new phasing techniques based on the concept of pupil plane detection will be tested, and a phasing algorithm to measure the misalignments between the segments with an accuracy of a few nanometers has been developed.
