Prevalence and risk factors for Campylobacter spp. in chicken broiler flocks in Reunion Island (Indian Ocean).
TL;DR: The authors' objectives were to determine Campylobacter prevalence in broiler chicken flocks in Reunion Island and to define specific practices associated with the presence of Campylolobacter spp.

Contamination by Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp. and Listeria spp. of most popular chicken- and pork-sausages sold in Reunion Island.
Alexis Trimoulinard,Marina Beral,Isabelle Henry,Laura Atiana,Vincent Porphyre,Claire Tessier,Alexandre Leclercq,Eric Cardinale,Eric Cardinale +8 more
TL;DR: Chicken sausages were associated with a decreasing risk of Salmonella contamination and Listeria monocytogenes contamination was positively associated with the presence of fresh rodent droppings in the outlet and negatively when the staff was cleaning regularly their hands with soap and water or water only.

Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica isolated from chicken carcasses and environment at slaughter in Reunion Island: prevalence, genetic characterization and antibiotic susceptibility.
Isabelle Henry,Sophie A. Granier,Céline Courtillon,Françoise Lalande,Marianne Chemaly,G. Salvat,Eric Cardinale +6 more
TL;DR: The primary source of Salmonella was the farm of origin and downstream stages in processing could not remedy to but amplify thisSalmonella contamination.

Isabelle Henry,Marianne Chemaly,Sophie A. Granier,Françoise Lalande,Céline Courtillon,Gilles Salvat,Eric Cardinale +6 more
TL;DR: Efforts are needed to eliminate Salmonella from poultry meat destined for human consumption and the importance of monitoring antimicrobial resistance in bacteria associated with animals and humans is shown.

TL;DR: This study aims to define Salmonella prevalence on broiler flocks at the farm and at the slaughterhouse, to identify risk factors of broiler infection, and to identify any cross contamination from the farm to the slaughterhouses.
