Pre-lysosomal divergence of alpha 2-macroglobulin and transferrin: a kinetic study using a monoclonal antibody against a lysosomal membrane glycoprotein (LAMP-1).:
TL;DR: Comparing the distribution of LAMP-1, a marker for lysosomal membranes, with the intracellular localization of alpha 2-macroglobulin and transferrin at various time points after their endocytosis into cultured NIH 3T3 cells indicates that ligands such as transferrin that are internalized through coated pits and receptosomes, but not delivered to lysOSomes, do not traverse a lYSosomal organelle compartment as marked by LAMP

Accurate in vitro transcriptional initiation of the chick alpha 2 (Type I) collagen gene.
TL;DR: In vitro transcription was found to initiate 33 base pairs downstream from a canonical Goldberg-Hogness sequence (TATAAATA) and this in vitro start site is the same as the initiation site of in vivo-synthesized collagen RNA.

Regulation of lac transcription in Escherichia coli by cyclic adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate. Studies with deoxyribonucleic acid-ribonucleic acid hybridization and hybridization competition.
TL;DR: It is concluded that cyclic AMP, cyclicAMP receptor protein, an intact promoter locus, and other unidentified factor or factors are necessary for efficient transcription of the lac operon.

In vitro stimulation of glucose oxidation in thyroid by serotonin.
Ira Pastan,James B. Field +1 more
TL;DR: In a cell free system fortified with TPNH, serotonin stimulates and acts by augmenting the oxidation ofTPNHtoTPN, which acts as a “spatially aggregating force” to stimulate oxidation of glucose-1 and 6-C14 to C14O2 in thyroid slices.

Recombinant immunotoxins and other therapies for relapsed/refractory hairy cell leukemia
Robert J. Kreitman,Evgeny Arons,Maryalice Stetler-Stevenson,David J. FitzGerald,Wyndham H. Wilson,Ira Pastan +5 more
TL;DR: Standard treatment for hairy cell leukemia (HCL) is markedly effective, but the constant decrease in disease-free survival, together with the presence of minimal residual disease (MRD), suggests that few if any are cured.
