Plant-soil-microbe interactions in maintaining ecosystem stability and coordinated turnover under changing environmental conditions.

Stumpy soil fertility is caused by continue crop and using chemical fertilizer. The organic amendments able to boost soil fertility. The reason of this research was to investigate the effect of organic amendments in comparison with chemical fertilizer on cowpea plants growth parameters under pot culture experiments. Results indicated that all the organic amendments showed better plant growth and nutrient uptake when compared to chemical fertilizer and control. Obtained results highlight the prospects and potentials of using organic fertilizers as renewable natural fertilizers for cowpea growth. Several studies indicated that the applications of organic fertilizers in adequate quantities improves soil condition and growth parameters in field crops. The study suggested that application of organic fertilizer improve growth of plants.

Effects of organic amendments in comparison with chemical fertilizer on cowpea growth

The present study examined the effects of composted Wheat Bran (5 g/2 kg of soil/pot) on physical and biochemical parameters of sunflower plants after 30 days of germination. Results showed significant progress in physical and biochemical parameters of plants as compared to control plants. Wheat Bran composted with T. hamatum (JUF1) in combination with Rhizobium sp-I (JUR1) and Rhizobium sp-II (JUR2) were found more effective in improving the shoot and root lengths while Wheat Bran composted with Rhizobium sp-I (JUR1) promote significantly carbohydrate, crude protein and mineral content of sunflower plants. It shows that composted Wheat bran may boost the soil fertility by refining its organic content.

Utilization of composted agricultural waste as organic fertilizer for the growth promotion of sunflower plants

This proceedings volume contains the papers presented at the CODIS
2008 congress held on 27 - 29 February 2008 in Solothurn (Switzerland).
The composting and digestion of biogenic waste materials and the subsequent
application of compost and digestate to soil contributes to nutrient
recycling and renewable energy production. Moreover, compost and
digestate can improve soil fertility and suppress plant diseases. On the
other hand, compost and digestate may also contain a variety of pollutants
hazardous to soil, such as heavy metals and organic contaminants.
Compost and digestate have been thoroughly investigated in the framework
of two associated projects entitled “Organic Pollutants in Compost
and Digestate in Switzerland” and “Effects of Composts and Digestate on
the Environment, Soil Fertility and Plant Health”. These projects yielded
new insights into the properties of compost and digestate, mainly with
regard to biological parameters and the occurrence of both “classic” and
“emerging” organic pollutants.

Organic matter serves as a very significant source of plant nutrients. Intensively misused soils want an exterior resource of stabilized organic matter, such as compost, in order to counteract progressive soil organic matter deterioration. The present study demonstrated the effects of composted and uncomposted organic wastes on growth of chickpea plants. Peanut shells and saw dust were used as organic wastes as treatments at the rate of 10tons/ha. All treatments were promoted the physical and biochemical parameters of experimental plants. Composted organic materials enhanced more growth as compared to uncomposted materials. Organic soil amendments can improve soil fertility and plants growth.

Comparative effects of composted and uncomposted Organic wastes on Chickpea growth

This given research evaluates the effect of compost with and without the living forms of biofertilizer on the growth and development of Mung plants (Vigna radiata). Four different types of Trichoderma species were used to compost Wheat bran as a carbon source @ 10 tons per hectare. The result showed that compost with living organisms induced an overall increase in growth and developments of plants. The promotion in length of plant was significant with the application of compost with living Trichoderma species. The carbohydrate content and the protein content were also increased with both forms of applied composts but the promotion was higher in the plants with the compost containing the living microbial inoculants.
