Characteristics Associated With Recurrence Among Women With Ductal Carcinoma In Situ Treated by Lumpectomy
Karla Kerlikowske,Annette M. Molinaro,Imok Cha,Britt-Marie Ljung,Virginia L. Ernster,Kim Stewart,Karen Chew,Dan H. Moore,Fred Waldman +8 more
TL;DR: Women with high-nuclear-grade DCIS or DCIS detected by palpation who are treated by lumpectomy alone are at relatively high risk of having an invasive breast cancer recurrence, compared with women with low- nuclear-grade or mammographically detected DCIS, and may be appropriate candidates for additional treatment.

Genetic Changes in Paired Atypical and Usual Ductal Hyperplasia of the Breast by Comparative Genomic Hybridization
TL;DR: The likelihood that UDH is a precursor of ADH, at least in some cases representing neoplastic growth is supported, and the frequencies of 16q and 17p losses suggest that alterations of candidate genes located in these chromosomal regions may play a role early in breast carcinogenesis.

Cyclooxygenase-2 expression is related to nuclear grade in ductal carcinoma in situ and is increased in its normal adjacent epithelium.
Veronica Shim,Mona L. Gauthier,Daniel Sudilovsky,Kristin Mantei,Karen L. Chew,Dan H. Moore,Imok Cha,Thea D. Tlsty,Laura J. Esserman +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that COX-2 is up-regulated in the normal adjacent epithelium and supports the hypothesis that the surrounding epithelial tissue is part of the disease process in DCIS.
Impaired spermatogenesis in men with congenital absence of the vas deferens
TL;DR: Although patients with CBAVD are assumed to have normal spermatogenesis and infertility due simply to obstruction, the potential for concomitant defects in sperm production exists and a clinical suspicion of testis failure should prompt further diagnostic evaluation of sperMatogenesis prior to sperm retrieval.
