Prevalence and imaging characteristics of detectable tonsilloliths on 482 pairs of consecutive CT and panoramic radiographs
Masafumi Oda,Shinji Kito,Tatsurou Tanaka,Ikuko Nishida,Shuji Awano,Yuko Fujita,Katsura Saeki,Shinobu Matsumoto-Takeda,Nao Wakasugi-Sato,Manabu Habu,Shinya Kokuryo,Masaaki Kodama,Takeshi Kaneuji,Daigo Yoshiga,Ikuya Miyamoto,Shun Nishimura,Yoshihiro Yamashita,Kenshi Maki,Kazuhiro Tominaga,Izumi Yoshioka,Toshihiro Ansai,Yasuhiro Morimoto +21 more
TL;DR: T tonsilloliths are relatively more common than previously suggested, however, panoramic radiographs detect only a small percentage of palatine tonsil under the soft palate and the low detection rates might be related to the degree of calcification, size, and number of tonsiloliths.
A spatial association between odontomas and the gubernaculum tracts.
Masafumi Oda,Ikuya Miyamoto,Ikuko Nishida,Tatsurou Tanaka,Shinji Kito,Yuji Seta,Naomi Yada,Katsura Saeki,Shinobu Matsumoto-Takeda,Nao Wakasugi-Sato,Manabu Habu,Masaaki Kodama,Shinya Kokuryo,Shun Nishimura,Kou Matsuo,Kazuhiro Tominaga,Izumi Yoshioka,Kenshi Maki,Yasuhiro Morimoto +18 more
TL;DR: A close spatial relationship and/or association between Odontomas and the gubernaculum tract or dental sac on computed tomography may be used as one of the criteria for radiographic diagnosis of odontomas.

Detection and imaging characteristics of the gubernacular tract in children on cone beam and multidetector computed tomography.
Ikuko Nishida,Masafumi Oda,Tatsurou Tanaka,Shinji Kito,Yuji Seta,Naomi Yada,Yuko Fujita,Katsura Saeki,Kazumasa Morikawa,Shinobu Matsumoto-Takeda,Nao Wakasugi-Sato,Manabu Habu,Masaaki Kodama,Ikuya Miyamoto,Shinya Kokuryo,Shun Nishimura,Kou Matsuo,Kazuhiro Tominaga,Izumi Yoshioka,Kenshi Maki,Yasuhiro Morimoto +20 more
TL;DR: Preliminary data suggest that any alteration to the GT may be used to predict abnormal eruption of permanent teeth and the frequency of detection and appearance of the GT in unerupted teeth is described.

Characteristics of the gubernaculum tracts in mesiodens and maxillary anterior teeth with delayed eruption on MDCT and CBCT.
Masafumi Oda,Ikuko Nishida,Ikuya Miyamoto,Manabu Habu,Daigo Yoshiga,Masaaki Kodama,Osawa Kenji,Tatsurou Tanaka,Shinji Kito,Shinobu Matsumoto-Takeda,Nao Wakasugi-Sato,Shun Nishimura,Kazuhiro Tominaga,Izumi Yoshioka,Kenshi Maki,Yasuhiro Morimoto +15 more
TL;DR: GTs of inverted mesiodens may exhibit characteristics that are different from those of normal GTs when the teeth and/or the palate are developing.

Developmental anomalies of permanent lateral incisors in young patients.
TL;DR: In this study, the prevalence of agenesis of the lateral incisors was higher in Japanese children than in other populations, and eruption disturbance occurred less frequently than Agenesis and microdontia.
