Objective and Subjective Assessment of the Quality and Intelligibility of Noised Speech
Arkadiy Prodeus,Vitalii Didkovskyi,Maryna Didkovska,Igor Kotvytskyi,Daria Motorniuk,Artur Khrapachevskyi +5 more
- 01 Oct 2018
TL;DR: It is shown that segmental signal-to-noise ratio (SSNR) is insensitive to the noise spectrum shape, and the behavior of logarithmic spectral distortion and bark-spectral distortion measures is only partially consistent with the results of the speech quality and intelligibility subjective assessment.

On peculiarities of evaluating the quality of speech and music signals subjected to phase distortion
Arkadiy Prodeus,Vitalii Didkovskyi,Maryna Didkovska,Igor Kotvytskyi +3 more
- 01 Apr 2017
TL;DR: It was found that the phase distortion of speech signals is perceived stronger than ones for musical signals, and objective quality measures are found to be useless for distinguishing these types of phase distortion.

On reliability of log-spectral distortion measure in speech quality estimation
Arkadiy Prodeus,Igor Kotvytskyi +1 more
- 01 Oct 2017
TL;DR: In this article, the results of experimental studies of the low reliability of the log-spectral distortion (LSD) measure for estimating the quality of speech signals limited in the frequency band are presented.

Using Kurtosis for Objective Assessment of the Musical Signals Clipping Degree
Arkadiy Prodeus,Igor Kotvytskyi,Alexander Grebin +2 more
- 01 Oct 2019
TL;DR: The k Kurtosis and the inverse value of kurtosis are proposed as measures of an objective assessment of the musical signals clipping degree to simplify and speed up significantly the calculations due to the absence of the need of preliminarily estimation the probability density function of the analyzed musical signal.

Clipped Speech Signals Quality Estimation
Arkadiy Prodeus,Igor Kotvytskyi,Anton Ditiashov +2 more
- 01 Oct 2018
TL;DR: In this article, the subjective and objective estimates of clipped speech quality are presented, and it was shown that subjective speech quality Degradation Mean Opinion Score scale values are about 4.5, 3.5 and 2.5 for degrees of clipping 5 dB, 10 dB and 15 dB, respectively.
