Rhamnolipid and surfactin production from olive oil mill waste as sole carbon source.
Ignacio Moya Ramírez,Konstantina Tsaousi,Michelle Rudden,Roger Marchant,Encarnación Jurado Alameda,Miguel García Román,Ibrahim M. Banat +6 more
TL;DR: This work presents an approach to give OMW added value by using it for the production of biosurfactants and confirms that OMW is a potential substrate for biosurfacts production.

Hydrolysis of olive mill waste to enhance rhamnolipids and surfactin production
Ignacio Moya Ramírez,Deisi Altmajer Vaz,Ibrahim M. Banat,Roger Marchant,Encarnación Jurado Alameda,Miguel García Román +5 more
TL;DR: Enzymatic hydrolysis proved to effectively increase the productivity of these biosurfactants using OMW as the sole carbon source using O MW as the only carbon source.

Two-phase olive mill waste (alpeorujo) as carbon source for biosurfactant production
Danielle Maass,Ignacio Moya Ramírez,Miguel García Román,Encarnación Jurado Alameda,Antônio Augusto Ulson de Souza,José Alexandre Borges Valle,Deisi Altmajer Vaz +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Bacillus subtilis DSM 3256 was successfully applied to the remediation of sandy soils contaminated with engine oil, and the highest surfactin concentration was obtained after 36h fermentation.
