The main purpose of this research is to find out the influence of students’ understanding of sentence pattern and vocabulary mastery on their reading comprehension of recount text at State Vocational Senior High Schoo 1 Logas Tanah Darat Kuantan Singingi Regency. This is a correlational research that consists of three variables; two independent variables, namely the students’understanding of sentence pattern and their vocabulary mastery, and one dependent variable which is the students’ reading comprehension of recount text. The research participants consisted of 175 tenth-grade students at the State Vocational Senior High School. The instruments that were used to collect the data are tests. After analysing the collected data by using SPSS, the results showed that the students’ understanding of sentence pattern is at the high level (M = 73.30, SD = 1.59) and their vocabulary mastery is also at the high level (M = 70.97, SD = 1.56). Besides, their reading comprehension of recount text is at the high level too (M = 67.91, SD = 1.66). After analysing the data by using multiple regressions, the finding indicated that there is a significant influence of the students’ understanding of sentence pattern and vocabulary mastery on their reading comprehension of recount text, in which F = 82.14, p=0.000<0.05. Then the percentage of the students’ understanding of sentence pattern and vocabulary mastery is 0.842 (84.20%). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. The influence of students’ understanding of sentence pattern and vocabulary mastery on their reading comprehension at the first year of state vocational senior high school 1 logas tanah darat kuantan singingi regency

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana struktur kalimat dalam novel anak-anak, khususnya bagaimana struktur kalimat deklaratif dalam novel tersebut disusun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan tentang struktur kalimat deklaratif dalam novel dan untuk mengetahui kompleks atau tidaknya novel itu yang dilihat dari jumlah simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, dan compound complex sentence yang diteliti oleh penulis. 
Penelitian ini diambil dari novel yang berjudul Lucy Keep the Wolf from the Door karya Ann Jungman. Dalam proses analisis, penulis menggunakan teori dari C.L. Baker. Data penelitian diambil dengan teknik acak, yaitu dengan mengundi setiap bab. Populasi di penelitian ini adalah semua kalimat deklaratif dalam novel Lucy Keep the Wolf from the Door. Sample yang penulis gunakan adalah semua kalimat deklaratif dalam chapter two yang didapat dengan cara mengambil undian dalam secarik kertas yang sudah ditulis dengan nama setiap bab. Dari proses tersebut penulis menemukan 28 kalimat deklaratif dalam bab 2. Dalam menganalisis struktur kalimat-kalimat tersebut, penulis menggunakan phrase structure tree (PST), dan kemudian disajikan dalam phrase structure rule (PSR). 
Dari hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa struktur kalimat pada novel Lucy Keep the Wolf from the Door sederhana. Hal ini ditandai dengan frekuensi simple sentence yang lebih banyak ditemukan, yaitu 15 kalimat dari 28 kalimat deklaratif sedangkan frekuensi compound sentence, complex sentence, dan compound complex sentence lebih sedikit. Frekuensi frasa juga lebih banyak noun phrase yang berjumlah 83. Sedangkan dalam tataran klausa, jumlah noun clause juga lebih banyak yaitu 6. Dari hasil tersebut, struktur kalimat dalam novel Lucy Keep the Wolf from the Door adalah sederhana sesuai dengan pembaca, khususnya bagi anak-anak untuk lebih mudah memahami novel tersebut.

A grocery store is a place to sell various household needs. Which provides necessities such as kitchen needs, bathing needs, school equipment, snacks, and others. A place that provides so many things is certainly not spared from theft by several members of the community. In previous research, is a system for home security. This research focuses on the installation of multisensors at each entrance in the house, which uses buzzer sensors and SMS as outputs. Therefore, to adjust the conditions at the grocery store. The components consist of Arduino UNO R3, ultrasonic sensor, DF Player, LCD, I2C, Speaker, and ESP32-CAM. This system is equipped with the feature of taking photos sent to telegram using the ESP32-CAM. The results of this study are the distance that the sensor can detect is quite far, but as a form of experiment, the author limits the distance to 12cm and will detect objects when they are at a distance of 5cm. The test proves that when the sensor detects an object with the object status coming, the speaker sounds which is connected to the DF Player by playing audio stored on the sdcard. The LCD will display the status of "there" when there is an object in the store. At that time the ESP32-CAM will take a picture and send it to a telegram. When the object passes through the object there is no response from any other component other than the LCD, which displays a “none” status which means that no object is in the store.

This research aims to determine the differences between Makassarese and English structure. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with ten samples of native speakers of Makassarese in urban village of PAI, Biringkanaya Makassar. The method used is contrastive method and using sentence function theory from Verhaar and the theory of tree diagram from Bornstain. The results of this research indicate the existence of different Makassarese and English structurally in terms of sentence function. The affirmative sentences in Makassarese generally begins with the predicate (P) then followed by subject (S) whils English sentences begins with subject (S) then followed by predicate (P). Verb in Makassarese also cannot change or get modification because it is not affected by an adverb and context of the sentence. While the verb in English can change depending on an adverb and context of the sentence.

Makassarese and English Affirmative Sentences Pattern : A Linguistic Contrastive Study

Hands are one of the potential mediums for viruses to enter the body during daily activities, so handwashing is one way to prevent the entry of viruses into the body. Using a hand sanitization device is one alternative. An automatic hand sanitization device can be useful in encouraging people to wash their hands without having to touch the device itself, which is usually done manually by pressing to dispense the soap. By planning and creating an automated hand sanitization system based on Arduino integrated with an ultrasonic sensor, this provides a solution to detect objects around the container. Consequently, the servo motor component will work automatically as a lever presser on the soap container pump. The hand sanitization device is programmed using simple instructions, and its performance will help the community prevent the entry of viruses by cleaning their hands after activities without having to touch the soap container.

Era Normal Baru atau New Normal merupakan kondisi yang normal secara aktivitas dan ekonomi dengan pola hidup yang baru. Memasuki era normal baru beberapa kebiasan masa pandemic Covid-19 masih tetap dijalankan pemerintah dan masyarakat. Pola hidup bersih dan sehat menjadi ciri utama protokol era normal baru jika mengukur dari pola hidup sebelum pendemi Covid-19.  Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan menunjukkan hanya sekitar 30% masyarakat secara kesadaran mandiri menerapkan pola hidup menggunakan masker dan menggunakan hand sanitizer.  Untuk mendukung penerapan protokol era normal baru maka setiap tempat yang menjadi tempat berkumpul orang banyak harus menyediakan fasilitas pendukung protokol era normal baru. Fasilitas yang disediakan secara bersama umum harus memberikan rasa aman penngguna dari penularan virus. Salah satu kriteria sebuah alat bebas dari media penyebaran virus ialah alat yang digunakan tanpa sentuhan tangan. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah menghasilkan alat yang dapat mengeluarkan hand sanitizer dan mengirim foto orang dengan suhu tubuh diatas 39 derajat celcius. Menggunakan metode Research and Developmnet (RD) dalam pengembangan alat.  Uji penggunaan pada tempat umum dilakukan untuk menguji tingkat kebermanfaatan alat bagi masyarakat. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa alat dapat bekerja dengan baik dengan tingkat keberhasilah 95% dan dapat menghasilkan data orang yang terdeteksi suspek COVID-19.New Normal is a normal condition of activity and economy with a new lifestyle. Entering the new normal era, some habits during the Covid-19 pandemic are still being carried out by the government and the community. A clean and healthy lifestyle is the main feature of the new normal era protocol when measuring from the lifestyle before the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on observations made, it shows that only about 30% of the community consciously implement a lifestyle of using masks and using hand sanitizers. To support the implementation of the new normal era protocol, every place that becomes a gathering place for many people must provide supporting facilities for the new normal era protocol. Facilities provided by the public must provide a sense of security for users from the transmission of the virus. One of the criteria for a tool that is free from the media for spreading viruses is a tool that is used without touching the hand. The purpose of this research is to produce a device that can issue hand sanitizer and send photos of people with body temperatures above 39 degrees Celsius. Using the Research and Development (RD) method in tool development. The use test in public places is carried out to test the level of usefulness of the tool for the community. The result shows that effects of this equipment is 95% and collect people are suspect COVID-19.

Language plays an important role in human life as a means of communication. It is actually the realization of the examples of written works. The writer chooses the song to be analyzed because studying song is not merely analyzing its figurative language, the meaning of words and the language style, but also analyzing the sentence patterns of the lyrics. Therefore, the researcher took a syntactical analysis on sentence patterns used in Westlife’s song lyrics.

In analyzing the material, the writer used some theories which are suitable with the subject. The theory of tree diagram proposed by Diana D. Bornstein is used to analyze sentences into each of the content of the sentence. In order to have deep understanding in syntax, the reseracher than chooses the material from one of Westlife’s albums entitle Westlife Deluxe.

This thesis employs descriptive qualitative method. The steps in taking and collecting the data are reading the lyrics of the songs, listening to the cassette, and selecting the songs as the samples and writing down the three lyrics of the selected songs.

Having analyzed the data, the writer finally found seventeen kinds of the sentence patterns. The most sentence patterns of the lyrics used as the samples are kernel sentences and transformed sentences. Through the discussion, the researcher also found the substandard English words, such as I’ve, ‘cause, and gonna. The sentence patterns of the Westlife’s songs consists of noun phrase plus verb phrase, some sentences consist of conjunction plus noun phrase plus verb phrase, some sentences consist of adverb of place plus noun phrase plus verb phrase.
