Programmable low-power consumption all-optical nonlinear activation functions using a micro-ring resonator with phase-change materials
TL;DR: In this paper , a programmable, low-loss all-optical activation function device based on a silicon micro-ring resonator loaded with phase change materials is demonstrated for incident signal light of the same wavelength.

Spatial complexity method for tracking brain development and degeneration using functional near-infrared spectroscopy
TL;DR: In this article , the authors proposed a spatial time-delay entropy (STDE) method as the spatial complexity measure based on the time delay measure between two oxy-hemoglobin ( ∆ [HbO]) or two deoxyhemoglobin oscillations within the 0.01-0.1 Hz frequency band, which can be used as a new tool for tracking cerebrovascular development and degeneration across a lifespan.
Thermal camera based on frequency upconversion and its NETD characterization
TL;DR: In this article , the authors present a scheme for estimating the noise-equivalent temperature difference (NETD) of frequency upconversion detectors (UCDs) that detect mid-infrared (MIR) light.
A Meshfree Peridynamic Model for Brittle Fracture in Randomly Heterogeneous Materials
TL;DR: In this paper , a peridynamics model for brittle fracture in heterogeneous materials with variability in material microstructures is developed, where the micromechanical parameters are modeled by a finite-dimensional random vector, or a combination of random variables truncating the Karhunen-Loève decomposition or the principle component analysis.
