A phase II study on metastatic breast cancer patients treated with weekly vinorelbine with or without trastuzumab according to HER2 expression: changing the natural history of HER2-positive disease
Paola Papaldo,Alessandra Fabi,Gia Ferretti,M. Mottolese,A. M. Cianciulli,B. Di Cocco,Maria Simona Pino,Paolo Carlini,S. Di Cosimo,I. Sacchi,Isabella Sperduti,C. Nardoni,Francesco Cognetti +12 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that trastuzumab can change the natural history of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer, and in fact, when treated with trastzumab, women with HER1-positive disease had better prognosis than patients with HER2 -negative tumors.

Accelerated chemotherapy with high-dose epirubicin and cyclophosphamide plus r-met-HUG-CSF in locally advanced and metastatic breast cancer
A.F. Scinto,Virginia Ferraresi,N. Campioni,R. Tonachella,L. Piarulli,I. Sacchi,Diana Giannarelli,Francesco Cognetti +7 more
TL;DR: Hd-Epi + CTX is very active against both LABC and MBC and the administration of G-CSF allows dose intensification of both drugs with acceptable clinical tolerance (a lower incidence of neutropenia but a higher incidence of anemia and thrombocytopenia).

Epirubicin Plus Docetaxel in Metastatic Breast Cancer: Escalating Dose does not Improve Efficacy. A Phase II Study
Alessandra Fabi,Paola Papaldo,Maria Simona Pino,Gianluigi Ferretti,Paolo Carlini,Umberto Pacetti,Serena Di Cosimo,C. Nardoni,Diana Giannarelli,I. Sacchi,Francesco Cognetti +10 more
TL;DR: The antitumor activity observed in this series was comparable with that seen in other studies of taxane/anthracycline combinations, and the degree of myelosuppression was severe, even though G-CSF was administered as a prophylactic.

Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) and gemcitabine (G) in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients: A phase II study
A. Fabi,Paola Papaldo,Mariangela Ciccarese,Nello Salesi,Vito Lorusso,Gianluigi Ferretti,Paolo Carlini,I. Sacchi,F.L. Cecere,Francesco Cognetti +9 more
TL;DR: A phase II clinical trial to determine the activity and safety of the two drugs in combination either in untreated or previously treated metastatic breast cancer women.

Cardiac tamponade as the initial manifestation of an extracardiac malignancy
Maria Cecilia Cercato,Giuseppe La Ferla,Nicoletta Pericoli,Angelo Fedele Scinto,I. Sacchi,Francesco Cognetti +5 more
TL;DR: The present report concerns a 49-year-old man who presented with the sudden appearance of cardiac tamponade, requiring hospitalisation, and the cytological examination showed the presence of undifferentiated cells compatible with a neoplastic disease, although the histology could not be better defined.
