Improved Efficiency on Adaptive Arithmetic Coding for Data Compression Using Range-Adjusting Scheme, Increasingly Adjusting Step, and Mutual-Learning Scheme
TL;DR: Five new techniques are proposed to further improve the performance ofContext-based adaptive arithmetic coding and make the frequency table of CAAC converge to the true probability distribution rapidly and hence improve the coding efficiency.

Novel Adaptive Rood Path Searches with Small Motion Prejudgments for Fast Block Motion Estimation
Hung-Yi Chen,Jian-Jiun Ding,Yih-Cherng Lee +2 more
- 01 Oct 2018
TL;DR: A novel adaptive rood path search (N-ARPS) algorithm with small-motion prejudgment (SMP) is proposed that has a near-optimal search accuracy and extremely lower computational complexity when compared with standard-of-the-art algorithms.

Advanced one-bit transform algorithm with edge enhancement and representative feature extraction for low-complexity and accurate motion estimation
Hung-Yi Chen,Jian-Jiun Ding,Yih-Cherng Lee +2 more
- 01 Nov 2017
TL;DR: An improved one-bit transform with pre-processing techniques is presented and an adaptive matching criterion was introduced to pick out features with higher representative to show that the proposed algorithm outperforms other methods both in matching accuracy and in computation efficiency.
