BIM-based task-level planning for robotic brick assembly through image-based 3D modeling

Due to more complex structure and increasing prefabrication rate of precast concrete buildings, the assembly order between their constituent components is getting more and more attention. In order to solve the assembly sequence planning and optimization (ASPO) problem in precast concrete buildings, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Improved Genetic Algorithm (IGA) are organically combined to propose a new method called BIM-IGA-based ASPO method. This method uses BIM for parametric modelling, uses IGA to search for an optimal assembly sequence, and then uses BIM again for visual simulation to further test the assembly sequence. Besides, IGA, which is improved in coding mode, crossover operation and mutation operation, is also used to achieve the dynamic adjustment of assembly sequence in construction process. A full-text example is used to explain the detailed operating principle of BIM-IGA-based ASPO method. The results indicate that the method can effectively find an optimal assembly sequence to reduce the assembly difficulty of a precast concrete building.

Applying mobile knowledge service into construction project inspections meets the inspection workers' knowledge demands of mobility and personality, enhances the efficiency of inspection works, and reinforces the pragmatic value of knowledge management in construction project business. User and task contexts are been paid more attentions in order to provide personalized knowledge service in mobile knowledge service. The hierarchy architecture of context ontology can be built simply and availably by ontology theories which study conceptual entities and connections among them in certain areas. The context ontology model of knowledge service in construction inspection describes the relationships between users and tasks, and the registration model of knowledge service is presented according to mobility and personality of project inspections. The OWL is used to delineate models of context ontology and knowledge service registration, which not only simplify the context expression, but also increase the validation and extensibility of knowledge registration services, and more sensibly reflect the adaptability and feasibility of ontology.

Production process planning is fundamental to start a product manufacture or a building construction. But the production process planning needs so many experiences and skills that a planner is difficult to bring out an excellent process plan in limited time.This paper presents an innovative process planning model for assembled production. The basic idea of this model is to generate process plans for an assembly by systematically analysis of its geometric accessibility and case learning. Disassembly and assembly process is automatically derived from geometric accessibility analysis by reasoning, and case learning provides knowledge to improve accuracy of assembly process.In order to verify this model, a pilot system is implemented to automate process planning in building construction, which is similar to assembly of products.

Production Process Planning Model with Geometric Accessibility and Case Learning

In order to increase the efficiency of traditional construction process planning,this paper presents an approach to automatic construction planning based on artificial intelligent and geometric reasoning.The building model is decomposed into basic components and disassembly process is generated on the basis of their topology.Construction process is planned on the reverse of disassembly orders.Application of this approach to a building shows that it is efficient and practicable in construction process planning.
