Flip your classroom: Reach every student in every class every day

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on human life, including arts learning in higher education. The problems that arise cause the learning community in the classroom to be limited. Face-to-face teaching is suddenly replaced by online learning. This study aims to determine an Edmodo-based online class’s feasibility by conducting a user response survey, namely students. The questionnaire was given to all active students majoring in Performing Arts Education from three batches, totaling 125. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics in the form of tabulation and data visualization, used ANOVA for comparing the responses of male students with female students. The results show that the online class as an alternative to class meetings was declared good by the students. The respondents’ preference in terms of the choice frequency and the mean score on each aspect of the assessment indicator shows a High level. There is no significant difference between the responses of male and female students. The data from this research can further be used as a productive study for the application of distance learning in the field of Performing Arts Education.

Investigating Student Responses of Online Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Performing Art Education

This study aims to analyze the influence of flipped classroom-based project assessment on critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes. This quantitative research has a post-test-only non-equivalent control group design. The population is distributed into two classes. The data are collected using questionnaires and tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Manova. The results indicate differences between critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes between students who learned with project assessments based on the flipped classroom approach and students who learned with conventional assessments simultaneously and partially. The significance value indicates more than 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that flipped classroom-based project assessment influences critical thinking skills and concept understanding. Flipped classroom-based project assessment is recommended as one innovative assessment based on constructivism to improve concept understanding and critical thinking. Excellent critical thinking skills and concept understanding will help students solve contextual problems.

Bu calismada Edmodo sosyal ag sitesi, bir donem boyunca yeni okuryazarliklar dersine kayitli egitim fakultesi 1. Sinif ogrencileri tarafindan kullanilmistir. Ogrencilerin egitsel sosyal ag olan Edmodo’nun yeni okuryazarliklar dersinde kullanilmasina yonelik gorusleri donem sonunda arastirmacilar tarafindan hazirlanan yapilandirilmis bir gorusme formu ile toplanmistir. 37 katilimcinin gorusleriyle elde edilen veriler icerik analizi kullanilarak analiz edilmistir. Arastirma sonuclari Edmodo’nun bir derste icerik ve bilgi alisverisine uygun olarak egitim amacli kullanilan faydali ve iyi bir sosyal ag oldugu ile derse odaklanmayi arttirdigini gostermektedir. Ayrica Edmodo’nun yeni okuryazarliklar dersinde kullanilmasi, gunumuz yeni okuryazarlik becerileri acisindan degerlendirildiginde sosyal ve bilissel acidan onemli bir etkisinin oldugu da bulgular arasindadir. Son olarak, arastirmaya katilan ogrenciler, arkadaslarinin konuya iliskin goruslerinin ogrenmelerine katki sagladigini, kendi fikirlerini olgunlastirdigini ve Edmodo ile ders icerigine hemen her yerden pratik bir sekilde ulasabildiklerini belirtmektedir. Edmodo sosyal aginin ders kapsaminda kullanilmasina iliskin sinirliliklar da bulgular arasindadir.

Cloud computing technology is growing rapidly, attracting great attention of educational institutions as it is believed to improved learning efficiency. There are many Cloud Learning Management System (CLMS) based on Software as a Service (SaaS) available and offered for free in the market. However, selecting the one that fit to purpose for educational institution or educators are still challenging. This paper seeks to provide a comparative guideline for educational institution and educators in selecting the best LMS's to be used based on the provided features. The study reviewed and analytically compared 6 major CLMS base on SaaS such as Collaborize Classroom, CourseSites, Ecto, Edmodo, GoConqr and Google Classroom.

A review of Cloud Learning Management System (CLMS) based on Software as a Service (SaaS)

Based on the limitations of traditional English class, an English listening class was designed by Edmodo platform through making use of the advantages of flipped classroom. On this class, students will carry out online autonomous learning before class, teacher will guide students learning collaboratively in class, as well as after-school reflection and summary will be realized. By analyzing teaching effect on flipped classroom, it can provide reference and teaching model for English listening classes in local universities.
