The invention discloses a method for improving cycling stability of lithium ion battery cathode material. The method comprises the steps of: preparing a lithium iron phosphate layer, and then preparing a graphene layer; coating a lithium iron phosphate layer on the surface of a lithium ion battery cathode material, performing drying, then coating a graphene layer on the lithium iron phosphate layer, performing drying, coating a lithium iron phosphate layer on the graphene layer, and repeating the steps to obtain a pole piece with the lithium iron phosphate layer and the graphene layer alternately superposed, wherein the pole piece at least comprises two lithium iron phosphate layers and a graphene layer. A traditional lithium iron phosphate cathode material can generate overpotential due to uneven surface in the process of charging and discharging a battery, so that the battery capacity is quickly attenuated, and the cycle stability is poor. In order to overcome the problem, an ultrathin graphene conducting layer coats the surface of the lithium iron phosphate battery to evacuate overpotential, so that the cycling stability of the lithium iron phosphate battery is improved. The preparation process has the advantages of simple operation, low cost, high efficiency and easy realization of large-scale and industrialized production.
