William V. Tamborlane,Roy W. Beck,Bruce W. Bode,Bruce A. Buckingham,Chase Hp,Robert Clemons,Rosanna Fiallo-Scharer,Larry A. Fox,Lisa K. Gilliam,Irl B. Hirsch,Elbert S. Huang,Kollman C,Kowalski Aj,Lori M.B. Laffel,Jean M. Lawrence,Joyce M. Lee,Nelly Mauras,Michael J. O'Grady,Katrina J. Ruedy,Michael Tansey,Eva Tsalikian,Stuart A. Weinzimer,Darrell M. Wilson,Howard Wolpert,T. Wysocki,Dongyuan Xing +25 more
TL;DR: Continuous glucose monitoring can be associated with improved glycemic control in adults with type 1 diabetes and further work is needed to identify barriers to effectiveness of continuous monitoring in children and adolescents.

Effect of Continuous Glucose Monitoring on Glycemic Control in Adults With Type 1 Diabetes Using Insulin Injections: The DIAMOND Randomized Clinical Trial.
Roy W. Beck,Tonya D Riddlesworth,Katrina J. Ruedy,Andrew J. Ahmann,Richard M. Bergenstal,Stacie Haller,Craig Kollman,Davida F. Kruger,Janet B. McGill,William H. Polonsky,Elena Toschi,Howard Wolpert,David Price +12 more
TL;DR: Among adults with type 1 diabetes who used multiple daily insulin injections, the use of CGM compared with usual care resulted in a greater decrease in HbA1c level during 24 weeks.
The effect of continuous glucose monitoring in well-controlled type 1 diabetes.
Roy W. Beck,Irl B. Hirsch,Lori M.B. Laffel,William V. Tamborlane,Bruce W. Bode,Bruce A. Buckingham,Peter Chase,Robert Clemons,Rosanna Fiallo-Scharer,Larry A. Fox,Lisa K. Gilliam,Elbert S. Wilson,Howard Wolpert,Tim Wysocki,Dongyuan Xing +25 more
TL;DR: The weight of evidence suggests that CGM is beneficial for individuals with type 1 diabetes who have already achieved excellent control with A1C <7.0% and most outcomes, including those combining A 1C and hypoglycemia, favored the CGM group.
Impact of Fat, Protein, and Glycemic Index on Postprandial Glucose Control in Type 1 Diabetes: Implications for Intensive Diabetes Management in the Continuous Glucose Monitoring Era
Kirstine J. Bell,Carmel E. Smart,Garry M. Steil,Jennie Brand-Miller,Bruce R. King,Howard Wolpert,Howard Wolpert +6 more
TL;DR: These studies have important implications for clinical practice and patient education and point to the need for research focused on the development of new insulin dosing algorithms based on meal composition rather than on carbohydrate content alone.

Transitioning From Pediatric to Adult Care: A new approach to the post-adolescent young person with type 1 diabetes
TL;DR: This work proposes a fresh approach to providing care in which the period of development after high school is considered as a period of “emerging adulthood” for youth with diabetes, and argues that the traditional conceptualization of only two distinct groups of patients misses the unique personal needs of individuals immediately post–high school.
