The main purpose of this study is to identify suitable potential areas for agricultural activities in the semi-arid terrestrial ecosystem in the Central Anatolia Region. MCDA was performed in fuzzy environment integrated with GIS techniques and different geostatistical interpolation models, which was chosen as the basis for the present study. A total of nine criteria were used, as four terrain properties and five soil features to identify potential sites suitable for agriculture lands in Central Anatolia which covers approximately 195,012.7 km2. In order to assign weighting value for each criterion, FAHP approach was used to make sufficiently sensitive levels of importance of the criteria. DEM with 10 m pixel resolution used to determine the height and slope characteristics, digital geology and soil maps, CORINE land use/land cover, long-term meteorological data, and 4517 soil samples taken from the study area were used. It was identified that approximately 30.7% of the total area (59,921.8 ha) is very suitable and suitable for potential agriculture activities on S1 and S2 levels, 42.7% of the area is not suitable for agricultural uses, and only 27% of the area is marginally suitable for agricultural activities. Besides, it was identified that 34.8% of the area is slightly suitable.

Site suitability analysis for potential agricultural land with spatial fuzzy multi-criteria decision analysis in regional scale under semi-arid terrestrial ecosystem.

In mobile crowd computing (MCC), smart mobile devices (SMDs) are utilized as computing resources. To achieve satisfactory performance and quality of service, selecting the most suitable resources (SMDs) is crucial. The selection is generally made based on the computing capability of an SMD, which is defined by its various fixed and variable resource parameters. As the selection is made on different criteria of varying significance, the resource selection problem can be duly represented as an MCDM problem. However, for the real-time implementation of MCC and considering its dynamicity, the resource selection algorithm should be time-efficient. In this paper, we aim to find out a suitable MCDM method for resource selection in such a dynamic and time-constraint environment. For this, we present a comparative analysis of various MCDM methods under asymmetric conditions with varying selection criteria and alternative sets. Various datasets of different sizes are used for evaluation. We execute each program on a Windows-based laptop and also on an Android-based smartphone to assess average runtimes. Besides time complexity analysis, we perform sensitivity analysis and ranking order comparison to check the correctness, stability, and reliability of the rankings generated by each method.

A Comparative Analysis of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methods for Resource Selection in Mobile Crowd Computing

Emergency medical services (EMS) providers are at continuous exposure to occupational stressors which negatively affect their health and professional practice. This study explored perceived occupational stressors among EMS providers. This qualitative study was conducted from December 2019 to April 2020 using conventional content analysis. Sixteen EMS providers were purposively selected from EMS stations in Hamadan, Iran. Semi-structured interviews (with length of 45–60 min) were held for data collection. Data were analyzed through Graneheim and Lundman’s conventional content analysis approach. Data analysis resulted in the development of two themes, namely critical conditions of EMS provision, and personal and professional conflicts. The six categories of these two themes were complexity of patients’ clinical conditions, interruption of EMS provision, health hazards, interpersonal problems, interprofessional interactions, and legal conflicts. Besides the stress associated with emergency patient care, EMS providers face many different occupational stressors. EMS managers can use the findings of the present study to develop strategies for reducing occupational stress among EMS providers and thereby, improve their health and care quality.

Occupational stress and its relationship with spiritual coping among emergency department nurses and emergency medical services staff

This study seeks to find the appropriate strategies necessary to make sustainable and effective hydrogen energy investments. Within this scope, nine different criteria are defined regarding social, managerial, and financial factors. A hesitant, interval-valued, intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) methodology is considered to calculate the degree of importance of the criteria. Additionally, impact relation maps are also generated to visualize the causality relationship between the factors. The findings indicate that the technical dimension has the greatest importance in comparison to managerial and financial factors. Furthermore, it is also concluded that storage and logistics, research and development, and technological infrastructure are the most significant factors to be considered when defining hydrogen energy investment strategies. Hence, before investing in hydrogen energy, necessary actions should be taken to minimize the storage and logistic costs. Among them, building the production site close to the usage area will contribute significantly to this purpose. In this way, possible losses during the transportation of hydrogen can be minimized. Moreover, it is essential to identify the lowest-cost hydrogen storage method by carrying out the necessary research and development activities, thereby increasing the sustainability and effectiveness of hydrogen energy investment projects.

Analysis of Strategic Directions in Sustainable Hydrogen Investment Decisions

Healthcare professionals, especially nurses and pre-hospital emergency (PHE) staff, are influenced by many stressors due to their responsibility to provide comfort as well as care and treatment of patients. The aim of the present study was to identify and rank the occupational stressors in nurses and PHE staff using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method. In this cross-sectional study, occupational stress factors in nurses and PHE staffs were identified and ranked by 30 experts, using FAHP method. Occupational stress factors were collected by General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), Job Stress Questionnaires as well as a literature review. Among the occupational stress factors in nurses, the highest scores were related to "Incompatibility between work schedule and life conditions" (0.03986) and "Being criticized by supervisors" (0.03723), respectively. The most common stress factors in PHE staff were related to "Care of patients with critical health conditions" (0.07258), "High number of missions" (0.07056), respectively. The overall results of this study showed that managerial factors and factors related to patient care are the most important causes of occupational stress among nurses and PHE staff. These factors should be considered in the implementation of control strategies for reducing and managing occupational stress.

Occupational stressors among firefighters: application of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM)Techniques

Introduction: Rural communities, especially farmers, are exposed to numerous concerns and stressors due to their type of occupation. The present study aimed at evaluating and prioritizing occupational stressors that cause dissatisfaction among farmers using Fuzzy Delphi Method and Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process.Methods: This qualitative applied research was conducted in two phases. First, the most important occupational stressors among farmers were extracted and screened by Fuzzy Delphi technique. In the second phase, Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was used to weigh and rank the stressors. Finally, data were analyzed using Chang's Extent Analysis method and Excel software.Results: Dimensions of stressors in farmers are ranked as; economic (w = 0.298), environmental and climate (w = 0.276), social and job-related (w = 0.224) and spatial (w = 0.202), respectively. Among stressor sub-dimensions, reduced groundwater levels (0.0617), low price of agricultural products in rural areas (0.0575), inappropriate access roads to farms (0.0545), no insurance for agricultural products (0.1521), and difficult sales of agricultural products in rural areas (0.488) were the most significant occupational stressors among farmers.Conclusion: Among occupational stressors, economic and environmental factors have the greatest impact on perceived occupational stress by farmers. Control strategies including providing farmers with financial support and purchasing agricultural products by government, restoring and reforming water and soil resources as well as personal coping strategies could greatly reduce occupational stress among farmers.
