Study fatigue crack initiation in TiB2/Al-Cu-Mg composite by in-situ SEM and X-ray microtomography
Jiwei Geng,Yugang Li,Hongyu Xiao,Hongping Li,Huan-huan Sun,Dong Chen,Mingliang Wang,Haowei Wang +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the fatigue initiation in a particle-reinforced aluminium matrix composite and found that fatigue cracks mostly initiate at multiple sites associated with TiB2 and second phases (S/θ).

Formation of ordered precipitates in Al-Sc-Er-(Si/Zr) alloy from first-principles study
TL;DR: In this paper, the nucleation properties and stability of the ordered precipitates in Al-Sc-Er alloy were extensively studied by first-principles calculation and the calculated substitutional formation energy revealed that the dissolved Sc or Er in the Al matrix is very favorable to substitute the X sublattice site in L12-Al3X (X = Sc/Er).

The High-Temperature Creep Behavior of In-Situ TiB2 Particulate Reinforced Al12Si4Cu2NiMg Composite
Shihan Dai,Zeyu Bian,Mingliang Wang,Yi Wu,Chen Dong,Hongping Li,Wang Haowei +6 more
- 07 Nov 2018
TL;DR: In this article, the in-situ TiB2/Al12Si4Cu2NiMg (denoted as ‘Al-12Si’) composites were successful synthesized through the salt-metal reaction route.

Improved stress corrosion cracking resistance of in-situ TiB2/7050Al composite by pre-precipitation treatment.
TL;DR: In this article, a two-step aging treatment (50'L'P, a peak aging following 50 ℃ pre-precipitation) has been investigated for the in-situ TiB2/7050Al composite.

Microstructure characteristics for quench sensitivity of in-situ TiB2/7050Al composite
TL;DR: In this article, the quench sensitivity related to hardness of TiB2/7050Al composite has been investigated by Jominy end quench (JEQ) test, and the underlying factors of microstructure characteristics to influence the QS of the composite were discussed.
