Recent Advances in the Synthetic Biology of Natural Drugs
TL;DR: A recent review as discussed by the authors provides an overview of the recent advances in the synthetic biology of natural drugs, focusing on the investigations of drugs that may be mass-produced by the pharmaceutical industry after optimization of corresponding synthetic systems.
Effects of grape seed extract on meat color and premature browning of meat patties in high-oxygen packaging
Xiaoyin Yang,Baochen Xu,Hong-Mei Lei,Xin Luo,Lixian Zhu,Ying Zhang,Yanwei Mao,Rongrong Liang +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of grape seed extract (GSE) on fresh and cooked meat color and premature browning (PMB) in ground meat patties (85% beef and 15% pork back fat) packaged under highoxygen modified atmospheres (HiOx-MAP) were investigated.

Griseaketides A–D, New Aromatic Polyketides from the Pathogenic Fungus Magnaporthe grisea
TL;DR: This is the first report describing the nematicidal activity of this type aromatic polyketide and showed prominent activity that killed 94.5% of C. elegans at 400 ppm and 66.9% at 200 ppm over 24 h.

2-Furoic acid associated with the infection of nematodes by Dactylellina haptotyla and its biocontrol potential on plant root-knot nematodes
Hong-Mei Lei,Jun-Tao Wang,Qian-Yi Hu,Chun-Qiang Li,Ming-He Mo,Kai Zhang,Guo-Hong Li,Pei-Ji Zhao +7 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that a large variety of secondary metabolites and their biosynthetic genes were significantly upregulated during the nematode-trapping stage and a previously unreported nematicidal small molecule, 2-furoic acid, was identified, which provides new options for the development of plant biocontrol agents.
