Methods and systems for providing integration of log, infrastructure, and application performance monitoring (APM) data sources for visualization and analysis. An example method includes automatically correlating data sources associated with execution of an application, the data sources associated with the execution including log data from services invoked, infrastructure data, along with application performance monitoring (APM) trace information that indicates in real time at least execution time information for the services; providing a separate user interface (UI) for the each correlated data source for visualization and data analysis; and in response to a selection by a user at one of the separate UIs, causing display of one of the other correlated data sources at another of the separate UIs. The method streamlines debugging. One of the UIs provides for selection of infrastructure metrics for display where example infrastructure includes a plurality of container and hosts.

According to some embodiments, an example method includes receiving input data to be graphically displayed on a graphical user interface, generating an interface that includes a control icon that can be translated within a grid so as to define an easing curve and to select at least two easing function parameters for a parameterizable easing function, and generating, in real-time as the least two easing function parameters are received, the graphical user interface which includes output representations of the input data which have one or more styling parameters that are selected based on the parameterizable easing function such that monotonicity is maintained between the input data and the output representations.

Embodiments relate to a platform offering configurable analytics facilitating performance analysis between multiple Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)—e.g., APIs of individual microservices invoked by a cloud application as part of an end-to-end process flow. For purposes of performance monitoring, a visualization framework according to embodiments permits user configuration of end points of the cloud application. A library parses that configuration, storing analytics data in a schema provided by the application. The library can store metadata generated by the monitoring configuration, allowing generation of analytical reports based upon that metadata. Configuration options permit creating visualizations (e.g., charts) for individual microservice APIs, and co-relating data between APIs by providing contextual navigation from visualization of one API metric to another. In this manner, embodiments facilitate co-relation between performance recording for APIs of distinct individual microservice(s) invoked over the course of an end-to-end process flow of a cloud application.

Configurable Analytics For Microservices Performance Analysis

Disclosed are various embodiments for a distributed code tracing system that provides code tracing as a service in a multi-tenant computing environment. In one embodiment, a code trace is received that is associated with a request submitted to a particular application hosted in a computing environment, where multiple applications are hosted in the computing environment. The code trace documents calls to multiple component services of the particular application in order to respond to the request. The code trace is compressed using time-based compression. The compressed code trace is then stored in a data store that is indexed by a unique identifier of the request.

Disclosed are various embodiments for sampling in a distributed code tracing system. A sampling service receives a segment of a code trace corresponding to a request submitted to a particular application of a plurality of applications hosted in a computing environment. The code trace documents at least one call to at least one component service of the particular application to respond to the request. The sampling service determines whether to forward the segment to a trace processing system or to discard the segment based at least in part on at least one sampling parameter.
