Keratinocyte‐specific ablation of Stat3 exhibits impaired skin remodeling, but does not affect skin morphogenesis
Shigetoshi Sano,Satoshi Itami,Kiyoshi Takeda,Masahito Tarutani,Yuji Yamaguchi,Hiroyuki Miura,Kunihiko Yoshikawa,Shizuo Akira,Junji Takeda +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that Stat3 plays a crucial role in transducing a signal required for migration but not for proliferation of keratinocytes, and that stat3 is essential for skin remodeling, including hair cycle and wound healing.
Pilomatrix carcinoma arising from pilomatricoma after 10‐year senescent period: Immunohistochemical analysis
Megumi Nishioka,Atsushi Tanemura,Takashi Yamanaka,Mamori Tani,Hiroyuki Miura,Makiko Asakura,Nobuyuki Tamai,Ichiro Katayama +7 more
TL;DR: The characteristic nuclear staining pattern of β‐catenin in the basaloid tumor cells, which is usually observed in pilomatrix carcinoma, supported the diagnosis of pilomatography carcinoma in the present case.

Involvement of insulin-like growth factor-I in psoriasis as a paracrine growth factor: dermal fibroblasts play a regulatory role in developing psoriatic lesions.
TL;DR: Results indicate that dermal fibroblasts may contribute to the epidermal hyperplasia of psoriasis by promoting keratinocyte proliferation through IGF-I, whose secretion could be modulated by inflammatory cytokines.

Long-term administration of cyclosporin A to HCV-antibody-positive patients with dermatologic diseases.
Hiroyuki Miura,Yuka Itoh,Yoshiko Matsumoto,Mamori Tani,Noboru Tanabe,Masaaki Isonokami,Kishirou Kurachi,Takahito Kozuka +7 more
TL;DR: Cyclosporine A is an immunosuppressive agent which is being used in the treatment of an increasingly wide range of dermatologic diseases, but its use has been avoided in carriers of hepatitis C virus.
