Mechanism of cadmium biosorption from aqueous solutions using calcined oyster shells.
TL;DR: The high Cd-removal capacity of calcined oyster shells in Cd removal from highly contaminated water and wastewater is attributed to their enhanced specific surface area, their material porosity, the bulk precipitation of Cd hydroxide and otavite on shell fragments, and ion exchange via Ca ions.

Size and shape of soil humic acids estimated by viscosity and molecular weight.
TL;DR: Ultrafiltration fractions of three soil humic acids were characterized by viscometry and high performance size-exclusion chromatography in order to estimate shapes and hydrodynamic sizes and good agreement of R(H) values obtained by applying Einstein's equation with those directly determined by HPSEC suggests that pullulan is a suitable calibrant for estimation of molecular mass and size of humic acid by H PSEC.

TL;DR: In order to evaluate the hydrothermal treatment (HTT) in enhancing compost stability and maturity of lignocellulosic agricultural residues, a bin-scale composting of rice straw with and without "HTT" was performed.

TL;DR: The ammonia-producing bacteria B55(T), CA73, SA69 and SA72 were isolated from the waterweeds Ludwigia adscendens and Eleocharis dulcis grown in highly acidic swamps in actual acid sulfate soil areas of Vietnam to represent a novel species.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of HT on EFB were investigated at the HT temperatures of 100, 150, 180 and 220°C with the holding time of 30 minutes, and the results showed that HT can increase the carbon content, remove up to 55% of ash content from EFB, and lower the potassium and chlorine contents down to 0.84% and 0.18%, respectively.
