The design of the two-step gear reducer is a tedious and time-consuming process.For the purpose of improving the efficiency and intelligence of design process,case-based reasoning(CBR) technology was applied to the design of the two-step gear reducer.Firstly,the current design method for the two-step gear reducer was analyzed and the principle of CBR was described.Secondly,according to the characteristics of the reducer,three key technologies of CBR were studied and the corresponding methods were provided,which are as follows:(a) an object-oriented knowledge representation method,(b) a retrieval method combining the nearest neighbor with the induction indexing,and(c) a case adaptation algorithm combining the revision based on rule with artificial revision.Also,for the purpose of improving the credibility of case retrieval,a new method for determining the weights of characteristics and a similarity formula were presented,which is a combinatorial weighting method with the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and roughness set theory.Lastly,according to the above analytic results,a design system of the two-step gear reducer on CBR was developed by VC++,UG and Access 2003.A new method for the design of the two-step gear reducer is provided in this study.If the foregoing developed system is applied to design the two-step gear reducer,design efficiency is improved,which enables the designer to release from the tedious design process of the gear reducer so as to put more efforts on innovative design.The study result fully reflects the feasibility and validity of CBR technology in the process of the design of the mechanical parts.

espanolLa presente investigacion analiza numericamente el comportamiento aerodinamico de vehiculo Suzuki Forsa con un aleron para competencia en pista. Para el diseno del aleron, se realiza una simulacion en ANSYS Fluent utilizando el modelo de turbulencia RANS K-e con una malla gruesa y una malla refinada. La malla refinada permitio validar los datos considerando una distancia de pared adimensional (y+=5) y una tasa de inflacion de 1,20. Con esta configuracion, se realizaron simulaciones de dinamica de fluidos computacional con distintos angulos (5o, 10o, 15o y 20o) con un tiempo de simulacion de 10 horas para cada angulo propuesto. Los resultados muestran que un angulo de 20o brinda una fuerza de sustentacion negativa (fuerza aerodinamica) adecuada para que los neumaticos tengan un mejor agarre con la superficie de rodadura y alcanzar la mejor eficiencia aerodinamica. Se concluye que la configuracion de aleron con angulo de incidencia de 20o brinda la mayor carga aerodinamica con la mejor eficiencia aerodinamica para el vehiculo Suzuki Forsa. EnglishThe present research study examines the aerodynamic behavior of a Suzuki Forsa vehicle with a racing airfoil. The ANSYS Fluent software and the RANS K-e turbulence model are used to perform a numerical simulation. A coarse and a refined mesh are used to design the airfoil. The data is validated with the refined mesh by using a normalized wall distance (y+=5) and an inflation rate of 1.20. This configuration is used to perform computational fluid dynamics simulations with different angles of attack (5o, 10o,15o, and 20o). The simulation time was 10 hours for the proposed angles of attack. The results show that the 20o angle of attack provides an adequate negative sustentation force (aerodynamic force) to improve tire grip with tread surface and achieve the most efficient aerodynamic. It is concluded that the 20o angle of attack configuration provides the most downforce and the most efficient aerodynamic configuration for Suzuki Forsa vehicles.

Design of a Rushton Turbine for the Improvement of the Bioreactor in the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the City of Morococha (Carhuacoto)-Peru

El objetivo de este artículo de investigación fue analizar el conocimiento de los trabajadores de la empresa “Metal Mecánica Antonio Tirado” ubicada en la ciudad de Ambato Panamericana Norte Km 7 sobe la soldadura. Metodología el método fue inductivo, el tipo de investigación fue descriptivo, documental y de campo. La población en esta investigación estuvo constituida por los 20 empleados de la empresa “Metal Mecánica Antonio Tirado” La muestra fue seleccionada al azar, siendo el único criterio el deseo de formar parte de este estudio, quedando constituida por 20 empleados La Técnica e instrumento de recolección de datos encuesta, el instrumento fue el cuestionario, el cual fue sometido a procesos de cálculo de validez y confiabilidad arrojando 0,97. Para el análisis de los datos se empleó el estadístico descriptivo. Resultado: El personal que labora no posee conocimiento suficiente sobre soldadura (54%), ni sobre los estándares empleados para el manejo de la soldadura (60%); un pequeño porcentaje de ellos han recibido formación sobre esta área, siendo en el 55,55% de los casos a través de cursos.

espanolSe presenta el estudio del comportamiento de un agitador con impulsor hidroala (hydrofoil), usado para mezclar agua con particulas polimetalicas en la industria minera, mediante simulacion numerica con software de dinamica de fluidos computacional (CFD). La mezcla tiene densidad promedio de 1.623 kg/m3, viscosidad aparente de 0.065 kg/ms y fue modelada como un liquido homogeneo no-newtoniano. En la simulacion el problema se resuelve mediante un modelo homogeneo Euler-Euler para flujo bifasico de superficie libre en estado estacionario, utilizando el modelo de turbulencia k-e. Se obtuvo la curva de potencia, que relaciona el numero de potencia (Np) con el numero de Reynolds (Re), a partir de la curva de torque del impulsor en funcion de su velocidad angular entre 200 y 700 rpm. Se encontro que Np converge asintoticamente a 0.32 en regimen turbulento, valor que esta en correspondencia con los resultados experimentales obtenidos en el presente estudio y los disponibles en la literatura. EnglishThis paper presents the study of the behavior of a stirred tank with hydrofoil impeller, used to mix water with polymetallic particles in the mining industry, through numerical simulation with CFD software. The mixture has an average density of 1.623 kg / m3 and an apparent viscosity of 0.065 kg / m-s, and was modeled as a non-newtonian homogeneous liquid. The homogeneous Euler-Euler model for free surface biphasic flow in steady state is solved in the simulation, using the k-e turbulence model. The power curve, which correlates the power number (Np) with the Reynolds number (Re), was obtained from the torque curve of the impeller versus its angular velocity between 200 and 700 rpm. It was found that Np asymptotically converges to 0.32 in turbulent regime, a value that is in agreement with experimental results obtained in the present study and those available in the literature.

The present work reports the development of intelligent software that permits to design gearboxes of cylindrical gears and welded housing with a high degree of automation. At the time there is a large amount of CAD software with options to design machine elements, but there is not any that focuses on the complete design of gearboxes. This is because a gearbox is a product of high complexity, in which many variables are involved and, at the same time, there are innumerable solutions for the same need. To overcome these difficulties, the authors have used the Artificial Intelligence technique known as Case Based Reasoning (CBR). The developed software has the characteristic modules of a case-based system: a base of resolved cases, a retrieve module and an adaptation module. The main advantage of this type of systems is that they manage to acquire the experience (knowledge) of the specialists and store it through the resolved cases. This experience is reused in the solution of new problems. During the research process it was necessary to define the main characteristics that describe a gearbox, i.e., its similarity attributes, as well as to establish the similarity function and implement a parametric adaptation technique. Additionally, the software has modules for calculating and selecting the components of a gearbox, to tune the design to meet the requirements established by technical standards or by a user. The implementation was done in Visual Basic language in the form of an add-in, which is automatically loaded into the Autodesk Inventor® environment. From the input data, the developed program, called aiGearboxDesigner, is capable of generating a complete design, 3D models and the corresponding assembly planes and manufacturing drawings.
