Sputtering of a metal nanofoam by Au ions
TL;DR: In this paper, the sputtering of a Au nanofoam by 10-keV Au projectiles is compared to a compact Au target, and it is shown that the foam sputter considerably less than the compact target.

Compaction and plasticity in nanofoams induced by shock waves: A molecular dynamics study
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate dislocation formation in Al nanofoams and correlate it with the velocity and stress profiles in the shock wave, showing that the profiles exhibit a 3-wave structure indicating elastic precursor, plastic activity in the ligaments, and foam crushing.

Step-edge sputtering through grazing incidence ions investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy and molecular dynamics simulations
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used scanning tunneling microscopy to quantify step-edge sputtering of Pt(111) at 550 K by grazing incidence ion bombardment with 5 keV ions.
Ion-induced mixing and demixing in the immiscible Ni-Ag system
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of 10 keV primary knock-on atoms (PKA's) on a Ni-Ag interface, and a homogeneous random alloy was studied by molecular-dynamics simulation.
