TL;DR: Pd nanoparticles incorporated into UiO-66-X MOFs exhibit high selectivity (up to 99%) to dimethyl carbonate in direct CO esterification, whereas Pd/UiO-66 shows high selectivity to dimethyl oxalate, due to Pd location affecting microenvironment and interface with Zr-oxo clusters.
