New Vectorcardiographic non-planarity measure of T-wave loop improves separation between healthy subjects and myocardial infarction patients
Mari Karsikas,Kai Noponen,Heikki V. Huikuri,Tapio Seppänen +3 more
- 13 Nov 2009
TL;DR: The results showed that the non-planarity of T-wave loop increased significantly in patients with myocardial infarction compared to the healthy group, and the new method was superior to PCA3 in separating the healthy patients from both infarctions.

Electrocardiographic Risk Markers of Cardiac Death: Gender Differences in the General Population.
M. A. E. Haukilahti,Tuomas Kenttä,Jani T. Tikkanen,Olli Anttonen,Aapo L. Aro,Tuomas Kerola,Antti Eranti,Arttu Holkeri,Harri Rissanen,Markku Heliövaara,Paul Knekt,M. Juhani Junttila,Heikki V. Huikuri +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the prognostic value and possible gender differences of SCD risk markers of standard 12-lead electrocardiogram in three large general population samples.
Efficacy of intravenous sotalol for suppressing inducibility of supraventricular tachycardias at rest and during isometric exercise.
TL;DR: Sotalol is efficacious for suppressing SVT with AV nodal or intraatrial reentrant mechanism, but less efficacious in patients with accessory AV pathway, and the beta-blocking and cellular antiarrhythmic effects of sotalol are not significantly reversed by exercise.

TL;DR: The EU-CERT-ICD data will provide much needed information on the survival benefit of preventive ICD therapy and expand on previous prospective risk stratification studies which showed very good applicability of clinical parameters and advanced risk stratifiers in order to define patient subgroups with above or below average ICD benefit.

Long-term prognostic impact of hyperuricemia in community
Tuomas Kerola,Jenni E. Kauppi,Laura Sares-Jäske,Olli Anttonen,M. Juhani Junttila,Heikki V. Huikuri,Tuomo Nieminen,Harri Rissanen,Markku Heliövaara,Markku J Kauppi,Paul Knekt,Antti Eranti +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined morbidity and mortality related to SUA and hyperuricemia and found that SUA is an independent marker of cardiovascular risk, but not a predictor of heart disease.
