Liquid chromatographic determination of multiple sulfonamides, nitrofurans, and chloramphenicol residues in pasteurized milk.
TL;DR: A rapid and selective liquid chromatographic method was developed to detect 6 sulfonamides, 3 nitrofurans, and chloramphenicol residues in pasteurized milk and some matrix interferences (3-7 ppb) were observed only with sulf onamides.
Synthesis and evaluation of the cardiovascular effects of two, membrane impermeant, macromolecular complexes of dextran-testosterone.
Lauro Figueroa-Valverde,Héctor Luna,Carlos Castillo-Henkel,Olga Muñoz-Garcı́a,Tomas Morato-Cartagena,Guillermo Ceballos-Reyes +5 more
TL;DR: Results showed that the macromolecular complexes increased vascular resistance similarly to free testosterone and blocked adenosine-induced vasodilatation and exerted rapidly and possibly through a non-genomic mechanism.

Screening for hydroxynitrile lyase activity in crude preparations of some edible plants
TL;DR: In this paper, a variety of food plants were screened for hydroxynitrile lyase activity and the results showed that crude material from the seeds of the fruits quince, melon, anona and cherimoya as well as the material from leaves of plum, peach, cherry and mamey biocatalyze the addition of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) to benzaldehyde with good to excellent enantioselectivities.

Evaluation of guanabana (Annona muricata) seed meal as a source of (S)-oxynitrilase
TL;DR: Guanabana seed meal is a source of (S)-oxynitrilase which biocatalyzes the enantioselective addition of HCN to aromatic, heteroaromatic and α,β-unsaturated aldehydes to produce cyanohydrins.

Chemical characterization and antioxidant capacity in blue corn (Zea mays L.) malt beers
Alex M. Daniela Flores-Calderón,Héctor Luna,Héctor B. Escalona-Buendía,José Ramón Verde-Calvo +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of caramel malt addition and different amounts of hops and guajillo chili, generating several styles of blue corn malt beers (BCMB) was evaluated at three different stages of the brewing process.
