Dubai was one of the top three real estate destinations in the world for investment in 2020. This paper aims to understand the order of preference for various housing determinants by housing consumers in Dubai. As a methodology, a survey was conducted on Dubai residents, and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was performed to identify the housing determinants and consumers’ preferences. In addition, the respondents’ demographic characteristics identified priorities by income, place of residence, age, gender, and type of house. The results showed that housing consumers place importance on housing price and rent (0.0918), and the investment value (0.0866). However, there was no serious consideration for social and psychological factors, other than safety (0.0730). Regarding gender, men place more importance on the housing price and rent (0.113), and the investment value (0.110). In comparison, women place more importance on factors such as the convenience of transportation (0.104), safety (0.093), and residential environment (0.082). In the age groups, the interest in the educational environment (0.081) among the 40-year-olds was relatively high. In terms of monthly income, the higher the income, the higher the interest in investment value (0.086).

Analyzing the Housing Consumer Preferences via Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Background: The study aimed to assess stroke knowledge among the general population in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and determine the factors associated with stroke awareness among people. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in the UAE between September and November 2021. The general population has self-administered an online bilingual survey (Arabic and English) distributed via social media platforms. The questionnaire covered general knowledge about stroke risk factors, consequences of stroke, and responding to somebody with acute stroke attack. Results: A total of 545 surveys were completed, with more than half of the participants being female (58.5%), married (55.4%) and employed (59.4%). The majority were less than 50 years old (90.5%) and had a university degree (71.0%). Many of the participants (70.8%) had a good general knowledge of stroke; however, around 20% of the participants were able to recognize all symptoms and risk factors of stroke. The most common sources of stroke-related information were the internet/social media (53.6%). Females were better able to correctly identify at least one stroke symptom and outcome than males (p=0.008). University education has significantly affected participants’ ability to identify early stroke symptoms (p=0.001) correctly. In addition, diabetic people were more likely to recognize at least one stroke outcome than non-diabetic people (p=0.039). Conclusions: The knowledge of stroke was good among highly educated people and females. However, the awareness of all stroke risk factors, symptoms, consequences and risk factors was inadequate among the general population of the UAE. Thus, there is still a gap between recognition of the relevant stroke and taking action among people.

Behavioral and Metabolic Risk Factors for Noncommunicable Diseases among Population in the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Noncommunicable Disease (NCD) has continued to pose a significant global burden, specifically regarding morbidity among young adults which has not been well studied. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the burden of NCD among young adults and identify correlating factors. It analyzed the 2018 Indonesian Basic Health Research, a nationwide study employing a cross-sectional design and linear systematic with Two Stage Sampling. The subject involved comprised 319,355 individuals in the 18-40 age group. Data were further analyzed using bivariate and multivariate analysis with logistic regression. The analysis results showed that 6% of young adults in Indonesia had one NCD or more. Young adults with higher Waist Circumference (WC) and higher Body Mass Index (BMI) had a higher risk of NCD (OR:1.58; 95%CI;1.52-1.65 and OR: 1.14; 95%CI:1.09-1.19, respectively). Furthermore, several sociodemographic factors exhibited significant correlation including older age, female sex, unemployment, higher educational and socioeconomic status, married and divorced, as well as living in an urban area (p-value<0.05). Unhealthy behavior such as consuming alcohol and smoking also increased the risk for NCD morbidity (OR:1.20; 95%CI;1.10-1.30 and OR: 1.19; 95%CI:1.10-1.27). Therefore, it was crucial to strengthen preventive programs targeting NCD among young adults by focusing on sociodemographic characteristics. This study also emphasized the importance of campaigns aimed at improving health behavior in this age group.

Non-Communicable Disease Morbidity Among Young Adults: A Cross-Sectional Study in Indonesia

As an emergent global trend of the last decade, accentuated by the pandemic, progressive technology-mediated developments in digital health sector have caused digital skill mismatches in healthcare professionals. We start by firstly providing a circumscribed overview of selected recent studies, initiated globally and expanded regionally, that highlight the challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0 (I4.0), facilitating a move towards an Enterprise 4.0 model applied in healthcare operations. We utilise ‘right-skilling’ to refer to how the new demands on the healthcare professionals requires retraining the professional workforce and often acquiring and developing their capabilities with the right (i.e. appropriate for the context) skills to fill the gaps in adding value to the emergent digital activities of the healthcare enterprises. This includes nuances when applied to the public and private providers and with local (Gulf nationals) and expatriate healthcare staff. Secondly, we briefly outline the region’s increasing challenges of dealing with prevalent non-communicable diseases (NCDs). We expand on how digital learning and right-skilling intervention models and tools, such as blended learning within a hybrid corporate academy design and ADE2 heuristic model can assist in addressing the gap in professional performance, outlined as a policy and practice case anchored on the United Arab Emirates. Lastly, we conclude by glancing at the possibilities offered by digital right-skilling within the Gulf’s healthcare sector to build capability and capacity for continuing and sustainable performance enhancement.

Background Evidence based practice revealed that health related behavioral risks and lifestyle factors significantly contributed to certain Non Communicable Diseases NCDs such as diabetes mellitus cardiovascular illnesses and some types of cancer Objectives To study the prevalence and profile of health related behavioral risks factors includes tobacco use physical activity obesity amp overweight as well as healthy food consumption among a representative sample of Dubai population Methodology Dubai HouseholdHealth Survey was carried out in as a cross sectional multistage stratified cluster survey Houses were visited to obtain detailed information on the different health related issues About families were randomly selected by stratified cluster sampling techniques With a response rate of the final sample equals to individuals The design and methodology of the survey were adapted from those used in the World Bank rsquo s Living Standards Measurement Surveys LSMS and the World Health Organization rsquo s World Health Surveys WHS Data collection was made by well trained researchers and well trained nurses The duration of data collection lasted to working days under strict technical and administrative procedure Data was collected electronically using well calipered tablets Data entry coding cleaning weighing and analysis have been carried out using the SPSS program Findings The present study revealed that among the respondents were males and were Emirati The study showed that proportion of current smoker was it was for males and for females The survey findings underlined a suboptimal intake of fruits and vegetables in the Dubai population Overall of the sample reported consuming a fruit ndash times a day At the same context of the survey population took a vegetable to times a day In concern with the physical activities an alarming high prevalence of physical inactivity among the sampled population of Dubai was observed with of them didn rsquo t perform vigorous intensity activities other than those done as part of work considered inactive In addition only of the survey population did moderate intensity activities for at least minutes at a time as part of work ndash days per week and hence considered inactive Conclusions Multiple behavioral risk factors were significantly highlighted among Dubai Population pointing out physical in activity at the population level high consumption of non healthy food and high levels of tobacco use This indicates true epidemiological transition which necessitate aggressive multidimensional interventions and policy actions
