When elites concede: state capacity and the management of protest in Mexico
TL;DR: This study examines the role of concessions in managing protests in Mexico, finding that high-capacity states are more likely to use concessions, particularly cheap ones, to resolve protests, contrasting with revolutionary protests where concessions indicate state weakness.
