Effect of Metal Doping and Vacancies on the Thermal Conductivity of Monolayer Molybdenum Diselenide
Milad Yarali,Hatem Brahmi,Zhequan Yan,Xufan Li,Lixin Xie,Shuo Chen,Satish Kumar,Mina Yoon,Kai Xiao,Anastassios Mavrokefalos +9 more
TL;DR: The results show that even though the isoelectronic substitution of the W atoms for Mo atoms in CVD-grown Mo0.82W018Se2 monolayers reduces the Se vacancy concentration by 50% compared to that found in the MoSe2Monolayers, the thermal conductivity remains intact in a wide temperature range.

Physisorbed versus chemisorbed oxygen effect on thermoelectric properties of highly organized single walled carbon nanotube nanofilms
Milad Yarali,Ji Hao,Mohammad Khodadadi,Hatem Brahmi,Shuo Chen,Shuo Chen,Viktor G. Hadjiev,Yung Joon Jung,Anastassios Mavrokefalos +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of physisorbed vs. chemiscorbed oxygen on highly organized single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) ultrathin films is investigated by correlating the thermoelectric properties measured by a suspended micro-device to the SWCNT structure characterized by Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy.
Thermal-structural relationship of individual titania nanotubes
Hatem Brahmi,Giwan Katwal,Mohammad Khodadadi,Shuo Chen,Maggie Paulose,Oomman K. Varghese,Anastassios Mavrokefalos +6 more
TL;DR: The thermal transport properties of individual titania nanotubes as revealed by the preliminary study using a suspended microdevice that facilitates the thermal conductivity measurements and crystal structure investigation on the same nanotube.

Observation of a low temperature n-p transition in individual titania nanotubes
Hatem Brahmi,Ram Neupane,Lixin Xie,Shivkant Singh,Milad Yarali,Giwan Katwal,Shuo Chen,Maggie Paulose,Oomman K. Varghese,Anastassios Mavrokefalos +9 more
TL;DR: This study showed the creation of acceptor states along with donor states in individual nanotubes upon lattice reduction and found the acceptor levels were found to be active at low temperatures when donor states were not ionized, shifting the Fermi level (Ef) from the conduction band to the valence band.

Electrical and optical properties of sub-10 nm nickel silicide films for silicon solar cells
Hatem Brahmi,Srikanth Ravipati,Milad Yarali,Shahab Shervin,Weijie Wang,Jae-Hyun Ryou,Jae-Hyun Ryou,Anastassios Mavrokefalos +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the dielectric properties, sheet resistance, absorption and transmission properties of nickel silicide films with varying thickness were investigated. And the use of a simple anti-reflection (AR) coating can recover most of the reflected light approaching the values of a standard Si solar cell with the same AR coating, making them ideal for utilization in silicon based photovoltaic technologies as a p-type transparent conductor.
