Decreased integration of EEG source-space networks in disorders of consciousness.
Jennifer Rizkallah,Jitka Annen,Julien Modolo,Olivia Gosseries,Pascal Benquet,Sepehr Mortaheb,Hassan Amoud,Helena Cassol,Ahmad Mheich,Aurore Thibaut,Camille Chatelle,Mahmoud Hassan,Rajanikant Panda,Fabrice Wendling,Steven Laureys +14 more
TL;DR: High-density electroencephalography data showed that networks in DOC patients are characterized by impaired global information processing and increased local information processing (network segregation) as compared to controls and the large-scale functional brain networks had integration decreasing with lower level of consciousness.

Intrinsic Mode Entropy for Nonlinear Discriminant Analysis
TL;DR: Robustness to local trends is ensured with this new measure, enabling an efficient characterization of the underlying nonlinear dynamics of the time series considered.

Wireless sensor networks in biomedical: Body area networks
Paul Honeine,Farah Mourad,Maya Kallas,Hichem Snoussi,Hassan Amoud,Clovis Francis +5 more
- 09 May 2011
TL;DR: How body area networks borrow and enhance ideas from wireless sensor networks is shown, to ensure a continuous monitoring of vital parameters of patients, while giving them the freedom of motion and thereby better quality of healthcare.
The PARAChute project: remote monitoring of posture and gait for fall prevention
David J. Hewson,Jacques Duchêne,François Charpillet,Jamal Saboune,Valérie Michel-Pellegrino,Hassan Amoud,Michel Doussot,Jean Paysant,Anne Boyer,Jean-Yves Hogrel +9 more
TL;DR: The PARAChute project aims to develop a methodology that will enable the detection of an increased risk of falling in community-dwelling elderly and has been the development of an algorithm for movement detection during gait and a balance signature extracted from a force plate.
Univariate and Bivariate Empirical Mode Decomposition for Postural Stability Analysis
TL;DR: Two new extended methods of EMD suitable to be applied to complex time series to extract complex intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) before the Hilbert transform is subsequently applied on the IMFs are compared.
