Use of a hand-held meter for detecting subclinical ketosis in dairy cows.
Hüseyin Voyvoda,Hasan Erdogan +1 more
TL;DR: The blood ketone-monitoring device can be used as a rapid and reliable diagnostic test to detect SCK under field conditions and to evaluate its usefulness as a cowside test in the diagnosis of subclinical ketosis in dairy cows.

Pharmacokinetics of meloxicam in adult goats: a comparative study of subcutaneous, oral and intravenous administration.
TL;DR: Subcutaneous administration of meloxicam resulted in long-term presence of drug at high concentration in goat plasma, and this unique plasma disposition characteristic may offer an advantage in some clinical cases towards potentially improving the treatment efficacy in goats.

Effect of Ketoprofen on acute phase protein concentrations in goats undergoing castration.
TL;DR: Levels of Cp, Fb and SAA may not be affected by castration such as the confounding parameters similarly to stress, and more investigations possessing different surgical or non-surgical castration techniques with larger number of goats are suggested for precise analysis.

Umit Karademir,Dilek Aksit,Cavit Kum,Hasan Erdogan,Eyup Hakan Ucar,Cevdet Peker,Cengiz Gokbulut +6 more
TL;DR: The results of the present study indicated that surgery could alter the plasma disposition of MLX and thus the drug efficacy and side effects such as gastrointestinal ulceration, unusual bleeding and loss of kidney function/failure when repeated doses are used.
Effects of selected nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on acute-phase protein levels after dehorning in Holstein heifers.
TL;DR: It is reasonably suggested that KTP, FLM, and MLX could all be administered to effect slight changes in acute phase proteins after dehorning in Holstein heifers.
