The role of Endoplasmic Reticulum Aminopeptidase 1(ERAP1) in Ankylosing Spondylitis
TL;DR: This review seeks to provide an update on recent advances in the exciting quest to establish the role of HLA-B27 and ERAP1 in the pathogenesis of AS, namely: the arthritogenic peptide, cell surface homodimer and the unfolded protein response theories of AS pathogenesis.

TL;DR: The present study focuses on the functional interaction of ERAP2 and HLA–B27 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with AS and assessing the effects in vitro in specific cell lines.
•Journal Article
KIR3DL1 interaction with HLA-B27 is altered by ankylosing spondylitis associated ERAP1 and enhanced by MHC class I cross-linking.
TL;DR: The role of both FHC and pHLA in modulating NK cell cytokine secretion and adhesion functions by interacting with KIR3DL1 is established, which varies depending on the AS association status of the ERAP1 variant expressed in APCs.
